the legion of honor. besides freeing the french from hitler's grip, during the awards ceremony yesterday, the french consul general of chicago expressed his nation's gratitude. >> thank you to your courage, to france and americands and allies, france and western europe have been living in peace for 70 years [ applause ] >> there are many and many and many other soldiers that are more deserving than i -- i will take it anyhow [ laughter ]. >> sense of humor, is he only about a million world war ii veteran as livept he kept a diary during the war and he is sharing his amazing stories on- line. >>> hundreds of bay area teenagers helped out the homeless today in a very practical way, gathering at temple hill church to assembly hygiene kits containing toothpaste, sun block, socks and other essential items. it's the third year for the project that has distributed thousand of these kids on bay area streets. the project spokesperson says it's not only good for the homeless, it provides life lessons for these teens. >> how it to approach life? how to serve? how to think about others, just a chance to turn off the cell phones and do something good. >> one of the teens actually saw a holmes man using one of the kit and t
