you just wrapped the last, the third and final season of "the newsroom." how do you feel? >> i feel great. this third season i think is the best of the three by far. i think it took me a while to learn how to write the show. it started to feel good in the third season. >> talk to me about that process. >> i love series television. but the thing about it is that the schedule is ferocious and you have no time. so the worst part about it is that you have to write even when you're not writing well. and then you have to point a camera at it, and then you have to broadcast it to a lot of people. >> "newsroom" has had its share of fanatical fans and also its share of critics. how do you deal with that? >> what i write is not going to be everybody's cup of tea. you learn that pretty early on and you're doing the show for the people who like it. >> the media today is obsessed with ratings, going through major transformation, criticized for being too sensational. what is your perception of traditional and cable news? >> i think that my perception is no more expert than anyone else's

now to the newsroom. >> woman was held against her will for two months but no one reported her missing and she escaped when a captor left a door open. the sheriff deputies arrested three men in connection withholding the woman hostage, beating and raping her all scheduled to be in court tomorrow in santa rosa for that the arraignment. in custody is 34-year-old jose barajas-mireles who is the mastermind behind this and is facing multiple charges including aggravate rape. they also arrested a 34-year-old avina and a 52-year-old cisneros accused of guarding the victim to make sure she did not escape. this is the home where the alleged abuse took place. it is a gated property on stony point road in santa rosa. the sheriff served a search warrant there and confiscated rot and questioned several people. the three suspects were arrested when they showed up at the department yesterday to get some of seized items returned. it appears the victim did not know the men who were holding her. she told police she was kidnapped at gunpoint but detectives now say that is not what happened. she may have
