well, the company does have noodles from all around the world. an, you can go there and get everything from spaghetti and noodles, noodles with meatballs, pad thai noodles, wisconsin macaroni and cheese. it's a healthy eating play that reminds me of panera bread. noodles and company has already cornered the noodle market. beyond the concept, you need to understand the context of this deal. the noodles seem a lot less crazy when we consider the junior growth regionals to national restaurant chains, they have been on fire. they have still been one more place to be that the media refuses to cover, except for right here. consider two of last summer's major restaurant ipos. chuy's, chuy, kept screaming higher to the point where chuy's has given you a remarkable 195% return if you got it on the ipo. and there's bloomin' brands, the bloomin' onion, paired with outback steakhouse. now up 101% in the aftermarket. i'm giving you how hard these earlier restaurant ipos rallied, the strength of the noodles and company deal might be a case of the market learnin

"new york times" say the hottest trend around is noodles. house noodle business seems stillborn but the concept is a winning one. the ipo itself, hey, lost in the thick of the hand wringing over whether the fed was tightening or not. although my colleague herb greenberg does point out that noodles may not have the same store sales growth that the bulls are looking for. the money has been made, including today's $8.73 run-up. this is a bad sign for a stock picker like me. you have to take advantage of the free money. lately it's been in the ipo market. the noodles deal, i always talk about this, when you have had it with stocks and ipos are being cancelled. you have to know what the chain is like, and no one i talked to had even -- about -- well, everyone was focused on the fed and the fed obsession. no one was talking noodles. yeah, this was a real wake-up call to me. a real wake-up call to get the international focus, no matter what, because that's where the money is. it does keep you from thinking about what really moves individual stocks

all right, so while we're making our easy microwave broth, we're going to take a look at the noodles, the pasta. and obviously, real fideos are pretty hard to find and they're not worth searching out because you can substitute thin spaghetti or spaghettini. it works just as well. and of course, we've got to break them down into smaller pieces that measure about an inch to two inches. use a clean kitchen towel and you put the spaghetti in the middle and you kind of make it flat. fold the towel over, and now holding it taut right against the edge of the counter here, you're going to break it into one- to two-inch pieces. (crunching sounds) >> that's a great sound. >> it is a good sound. there we go. and then you can just simply dump it into a bowl. the key flavor in fideos is this pasta, but toasted till it's a nice golden brown. and we're going to do that in this skillet. i already have two teaspoons of olive oil in here. we're going to put it over medium high heat. add the pasta. we're just going to toast it until it's very golden, about the color of peanut butter. and a lot of recipe
