especially for the northbay and the east bay. it if you are about to step out the door. here is what you need to know. we are looking at cooler temperatures and good air quality for now. but, things will be changing with those gusty northerly winds developing tonight into tomorrow. i really am watching the northbay mountains and east hills and a red flag warning will be in effect starting tonight at 11:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. wednesday for the areas highlighted in red. northbay mountains, east bay hills and diablo range. northerly winds, 20 to 30 guests, 55 miles per hour. relative humidity values will be dropping. so, actually plummeting as we look to tomorrow down to, in fact the teens in some spots. so, we are looking at the specific northwest storm system here, bringing this cooler temperatures and better air quality but changes ahead as we look to tonight and for the rest of the week. so, as the low pressure system slide southeast, culloden insights letter, it is pretty early for this time of year but we got it and we are lo

the higher elevations of the northbay. smoke coming down from the north, this makes sense, higher concentrations of smoke for the northbay, but also relatively elevated and high stuff. qualy godo. looking at the stba air clear through the day. on chuanfu on cbsn bay area takes the smoke and clears away. still hazy off in the distance but good news for their quality down here on the ground level. temperatures out there right around 60 for most locations. a cool 55 in santa rosa. looking at the marine layer is and isn't, the picture clearly painted on here. plenty of clouds made their way into the media bay, also for the northbay, and around san jose, you probably will see sunshine in the next hour and if we look at the inland valleys, waking up to clear skies. it is really just the haze off in the distance you will have. clouds melt into the late morning. however, by the time we get into late afternoon, a batch of higher clouds will geopal storm, trying to throw clouds into the pacific but that's it, a few clouds, high cloud

air quality not forecast to become dreadful, just barely into the moderate category for the northbay on thursday and maybe into the moderate category on friday for the northbay, the central bay, and eastland -- inland in the east bay. otherwise our weather this week is looking pretty nice. it's beautiful out there right now. looking toward golden gate from the mark hopkins hotel, no fog out there, at least not yet. it's going to reappear later on tonight. temperatures in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, anywhere from 65 in downtown san francisco to 90 degrees on the nose and concord in livermore, and it's going to be another hot one inland in the east bay by tomorrow afternoon. wind speeds running about 15 to 20 miles an hour. not an overly windy day by bay area standard. 20 miles an hour one of the stronger gusts right now at sfo. the onshore breeze is going to continue and that helps us out because it's not just at ground level but through the bottom couple miles of the atmosphere pushing that smoke away for at least a couple more days. the fog is going to try to return as we head through

if we see any unhealthy category, it will be in the same spot, the northbay inland and the east bay on friday. the air-quality forecast more than 48 urs in advance are very tricky so this will change, it's just a matter of if it will get a little better or if it will get a little worse. plenty of fog already on top of salesforce tower. temperatures topped out in the 60s, 70s and 80s, but no 90s to show you. 88 in concord, san jose and fremont topping out in the 70s with low 60s in san francisco. currently, still have 60s, 70s and 80s. 80s further inland, still that 88, high temperature in concord. the fog will spread out, and a few blips in green indicating that coastal drizzle by tomorrow morning. as we had through the day it will begin to back off. and the areas most likely to see any moisture will be along the coast, maybe even in the east bay hills. but again, anything more than .01 of an inch is not likely. i temperatures tomorrow are still below average, 4-7 degrees below normal for san jose and concord. let's zoom in for a closer look. around 60 along the coast, mostly lower hal
