it was colder than that in the northern suburbs. we are close to normal today as far as temperatures go, but a little too warm for major snowfall. 38 in downtown baltimore right now. closer to freezing as we get near the pennsylvania line, back in northern carol county. in southern pennsylvania, it is around the freezing point. western maryland is already seeing the snow winding down. snowfall potential is only about an inch or so. even the upper eastern for may catch a little bit of that as the system moves away. higher amounts in some of the mountains of west virginia. it looks like it is winding down between 8:00 and 10:00. as it gets close to midnight or a little beyond that it will start to really wind down and move away. by thursday morning we should have mostly clear skies across eastern and central maryland. a couple more hours and this will be gone. close up 36-42. an ic package could certainly occur, so you want to be careful. -- an icy package. the weather for thursday and friday should be nice. it looks like a burst of ar

in 2012, you see the larger polygon for the larger vessels, against all concentrated along the northern waterfront, but it will likely have more than one it finishes, at 27, 29, the bottom right corner of the polygon on the screen. and a little snapshot of our planning status, as we alluded to in the opening comments, there was a unanimous certification both at the planning commission with a similar vote on the industry to appeal with the board of supervisors. we have negotiated implementation plan that is part of this package. a few of those will have to be revised as we move forward. for example, the traffic plan with the area of racing, but largely, those plans really helped to draw the picture of what is going to be required to put on the event. federal environmental review under one lot is the national environmental policy act. that is in progress. we are working with the coast guard, the park service, the army corps of engineers, and the presidio trust to address this. we think our ceqa effort really provides a good foundation for that, and in a related effort, the permitting proc

the northern side of the storm as advertised a blizzard ongoing in areas of south dakota and watch that snow just north of minneapolis. icy mess right now in michigan. and northern wisconsin is getting hit with heavy snow. we are expecting that little area to get possibly above a foot north of green bay. eventually, all of this weather, the snowy part of it, it's going to move into areas of new england later on today. your evening drive home will have snow covered roads throughout areas of northern kentucky, areas of -- definitely through massachusetts and up through new england. a significant snowstorm for that area. in other words, a lot going that's a look at the national forecast. now here's a look at the weather outside your window. well, the other side of there symptom system that we have to talk about is the severe weather side. damaging storms will continue throughout much of tennessee, kentucky, northern portions of alabama and georgia later on today. a lot of people, you know, waking up to these tornadoes in missouri and i'll give you updates if i get them. >> a gasp of winter

a little winter surprise for some people in the northern plains and the great lakes later on tonight. first thing's first. yesterday, what a day. i mean look at the temperatures on this map. we were in the upper 70s to low 80s through texas, florida was great, mardi gras in new orleans, the end of the festivities as we continue this week at 80 degrees yesterday. notice the colder air. there's a little bit of chilly air still in the northern plains and that's the key to the upcoming forecast. we haven't had a lot of snow in many cities. chicago has been one of them. only 16 inches of snow so far this winter. typically chicago gets almost 40 inches. we're well behind schedule. the last two winters over 50 inches. we're finally going to get another snowstorm in chicago. right now it's a small little snowstorm. not going to be widespread. little narrow band of snow is going to move through the southern plains into the great lakes later on tonight. right now, we're watching that snow and the storm beginning to form here in south dakota. the first city that's going to change over to all sno
