the winds from the northwest at 6 miles per hour. day temperatures look like this. 24 in oakland. 31 in cumberland and 32 on the shore as well. 35 in washington and around the metro, 32 in columbia. winds are -- gusty -- down around washington, d.c., over towards easton and around the river. in the double-digits there. 12 mile-per-hour winds up in elkton. lighter winds -- everywhere else. it is coming around high pressure that is bringing us dry condition. the eastern sea board back to the midwest is experiencing the dome of high pressure. just a little bit of lake affect snow around new york. it is the northwest wind picking up moisture around the great lakes. that is giving them that. not much of precipitation in our region. the high is to the northwest and moving across the ohio valley to the south of the state. with the clockwise flow it is going to start pushing in warmer air. so, that starts to get funneled in here as early as tomorrow. tomorrow in the 60s. that's the coolest day of the week. so, we want to remind you as well. l

in the northwest we have tribes that border international waters. we have tribes in montana, washington that border canada. and we've noticed too in this budget that there's a proposed reduction of 2.6 million in the special initiatives project. the special initiatives is designed, a component of that to contend with international drug trafficking and border security issues. as president of the nation i can attest to the gravity of law enforcement issues in indian country where we know that drug trafficking organizations have targeted our lands. the bureau, the justice reports that have been released have noted that. we have 30 miles of international border with 2,000 miles of logging roads from the ocean to highway 101, we have 22 points of entry. we've recovered, invested our own dollars into a drug task force. $400,000 of our own appropriations this year that resulted in first quarter 48 arrests with 100% conviction rate. we've recovered cocaine, heroin, meth, prescription pills and most recently in this last month our drug task force impounded a

one goes away another comes in from the pacific northwest. the system is going to be impact aing majority of the country. the system as of now will be descending from the pacific northwest from california to the next couple of days with gusts reaching up to 100 kilometres per hour. sustained wind as much as 50 kilometres per hour plus some snow accumulation in the valleys. five centimeters and up in the mountains about 15 centimeters. that combined will bring you blowing snow reduced visibility, very hazardous for driving conditions. also some heavy dumps of snow all the way towards manitoba. some places you can see 20 centimeters of snow accumulation there. vancouver and seattle a pair of 7 degrees. los angeles at 24. oklahoma city very windy at 21 degrees and toronto minus 1 looks frigid out there. you'll be having a lot of sunny spells. let's head over to europe. we have this weakening low pressure system just pressing over france. that's going to be tapering off with snow showers that accompanied with it. here though, it's a system that's

as far as the forecast goes on the wet, the northwest saw the storm system move onshore and it's now situated right over the top. all coastal areas of oregon, the cascades, snow levels have been dropping as the cold front went through and snow out there and even some rain at the coast, windy conditions, apparently low went in there. another little one circulating behind it and cool air is blowing in, so in the seattle area just scattered showers for you but the heaviest of it definitely further to the south talking from the portland area southward and now snow levels are dropping almost to the valley floor from salem to eugene. be careful out there. could be problems on the roads you wouldn't expect them to be this time of year. as far as snowfall totals, the highest totals in between portland and ee jean in the cascades. just fine in areas of southern california and warming up nicely from vegas to phoenix. that's a loo slowly warm it up and melt the snow. and looks like we'll stay damp in the northwest but this is by far the worst of it over the weekend a little better. >> so bizarr

the records. researchers from all over northwest louisiana. n particular i would like to highlight one of our more unique cases. it is the death of the 16-year-old girl in 1934, megan at the hand of the so-called butterfly man. otherwise known as frank lockhart, brutally murdered and raped her in 1934 in shreveport. we will look at one of the records and here we go. this is a copy of the actual corner's file on the death of megan -- may given. this was prepared by dr. willis butler at cat or purge corner. caddo parish. daniel napier was his actual name. was found dead in 1934 to the right of hr avenue in shreveport. the time of her death was fixed thursday afternoon april 12th, 1934. this is fairly typical of a coroner's report you will find in our files from this time period. after the cover sheet you will find dr. butler's statement as he describes the scene where her body was found as well as evidence that was scattered around the area. he also describes the physical appearance of fred lockhart, the suspect in cattle -- caddo parish jail. th
