two window washers are rescued by the oakland fire department. this is a live look right now at the empty basket there. the rescued happened minutes ago on broadway and 11th street in downtown and the workers called for help when their platform got stuck no way up or down. after assessing the situation, a firefighter was lowered down to the men and the rescue plan was put into motion. it was determined that it was safer to pull the men up on cables individually and this is the look at how they did it a short time ago. quite a sight though as those firefighters were able to rescue the men from the platform. apparently each window washer was pushing off exterior windows as they were brought to the roof and you can see the way that they did it there with the cables, pretty amazing that high up. for more on the rescue, we are, um, trying to talk to the oakland battalion chief and we're going to try to get that person on the phone. but for now, the two men are safe after being rescued from this building. >>> new at noon, health officials are confirming
