he is the two term governor and maybe the key swing state of ohio. it's a state that's going in every president election since 1960. they're going to win back the white house -- he ran for re-election and won by a land slide. that imploded and won it by 31 points. the approval rating sits at 61 percent. another poll shows that 72 percent feel that things are going in the right direction in the state. now, think for a second here about another candidate and think of chris christie and all of those polls showing how deeply unpoplar he is getting. john does not have that problem at all. ohio could be the state to decide who the next president is. republicans say that they can win over the swing voters that are not too nuts these days and for example he is one of the few governor's that expanded medicaid under the affordable care act. many do not like this, but it could be very attractive in a general election. that's if he can get to a general election. look at how he talks about the issue. a group of conservatives confront him and said this to them. he

severe thunderstorms and flash floods are in the forecast from the upper midwest through the ohio valleytoday. parts of kentucky are already under water. we're joined now by morgan lentis of our cbs louisville affiliate, wlky. morgan? >> reporter: jeff, the water is already receding around the city. and as you can see behind me some creeks are already still staying out of their banks following this morning's severe rainfall. we're hearing that some areas received three to four inches of rain between about 4:00 and 9:00 a.m., causing substantial damage to some homes and buildings. flooding has been an issue this year in louisville so it's not unfamiliar, but many residents that we spoke with today tell us this is some of the worst flooding they've seen in years. and, unfortunately, there's no relief in sight just yet. forecasters calling for more severe storms over the next 24 hours, possibly even damaging winds. >> glor: morgan, thank you very much. julie martin of the weather channel is tracking the storms. what's the latest, julie? >> reporter: a couple of dangerous days ahead.da we'll
