the east bay. suddenly we have a backup through orinda even into lafayette. nt is westbound 4 approaching the wilder road exit before the caldecott and suddenly it's jammed solid for a mile. unusually heavy traffic conditions getting into owning. in oakland northbound highway 13 by the moraga avenue, the off-ramp is closed for an hour, a large downed tree completely blocking the off-ramp so there is a traffic alert issued there. and a couple of accidents actually in the south bay. one we had mentioned approaching the guadalupe parkway and curtner avenue. that's off to the right-hand shoulder. but now we have a new one northbound 85 by winchester boulevard. both of those are causing some slowdowns. and now we are seeing 101 traffic beginning to slow down. it's approaching mckee road mainly where it usually bottlenecks. but otherwise just heavy traffic conditions now coming into san jose. the bay bridge, metering lights turned off at 5:53 so now you are jammed solid through the overcrossing to the west grand overcrossing 10 minutes to get on the bay bridge. tune

pittsburg-bay point line were delayed this morning after a man fell on to the tracks around 7:00 at the orinda station. rescue workers say the man had a medical emergency and had passed out on the tracks. he was treated on site for minor head injuries. it caused delays of 20 minutes in both directions. >>> a father in oakland is trying to find his son before the police do and arrest him for murder. the 14-year-old is accused of killing his 17-year-old sister. justice toliver was shot to death in a downtown oakland apartment yesterday. family members say the boy shot his sister because she had bleached some of his clothes. their father is now pleading for his son to surrender. >> i don't want these police to find him because they got him armed and dangerous which he tell me he don't have the gun no more so i have -- i'm praying on it. >> justice toliver had recently returned to school and had a 2- year-old child. >>> marijuana grow house went up in flames early this morning in pittsburg. contra costa county fire got the call around 1 a.m. and found flames shooting through the roof at tampico an

this morning, we're watching this accident in the orinda area. eastbound highway 24 at st. 's another one of those solo spinouts partially blocking the right-hand lane. in cupertino, it was initially reported as one car but now up to 6 cars involved in this accident northbound 85 just before de anza. chp did a great job of clearing that up all of that off to the right-hand shoulder at this hour. so it is a busy commute. just solo spinouts here and there. the westbound drive approaching the bay bridge toll plaza is still wide open with no delays getting into san francisco. the altamont pass expect the usual backups and sensors are showing all the delays for westbound 580 crowded from beyond the 205 interchange, stays heavy to vasco. it's been a good morning though for mass transit, no delays for bart or the ferries. that's a look at "kcbs traffic." now to frank. >>> we have some breaking news out of stockton where police are in the middle of a low- speed chase with a big rig this morning. you're looking at a cbs mobile unit following the chase this morning. it's been going on

here and it is not affecting the traffic at all and freeway traffic does look good but if you are trying to get off that off ramp, you will see some slow traffic but between orindaakland it has been a very nice drive. let's move to san mateo bridge and they are off to a good start as you drive through. now let's go back to the desk. >>> we continue to cover that breaking news out of san francisco, a deadly stabbing at the corner of market and octavia. tara moriarty is on the scene getting more information out there from investigators, tara? >> reporter: well, there is a very large police presence and i counted 11 patrol cars just in front of this apartment building and we now know the coroner is out there and they are in the lobby of this building and we saw some investigators on the stairwell trying to piece together what happened. this all unfolded shortly before 3:30 a.m. this morning and we are on the corner of market and octavia street. they found a man stabbed to death who was pronounced dead when they arrived and the motive remains under investigation. the victim's identity is being held. and they climbed town and nobody is being allowed to move the body.
