the east bay. suddenly we have a backup through orinda even into lafayette. nt is westbound 4 approaching the wilder road exit before the caldecott and suddenly it's jammed solid for a mile. unusually heavy traffic conditions getting into owning. in oakland northbound highway 13 by the moraga avenue, the off-ramp is closed for an hour, a large downed tree completely blocking the off-ramp so there is a traffic alert issued there. and a couple of accidents actually in the south bay. one we had mentioned approaching the guadalupe parkway and curtner avenue. that's off to the right-hand shoulder. but now we have a new one northbound 85 by winchester boulevard. both of those are causing some slowdowns. and now we are seeing 101 traffic beginning to slow down. it's approaching mckee road mainly where it usually bottlenecks. but otherwise just heavy traffic conditions now coming into san jose. the bay bridge, metering lights turned off at 5:53 so now you are jammed solid through the overcrossing to the west grand overcrossing 10 minutes to get on the bay bridge. tune

this morning, we're watching this accident in the orinda area. eastbound highway 24 at st. here and it is not affecting the traffic at all and freeway traffic does look good but if you are trying to get off that off ramp, you will see some slow traffic but between orindaakland it has been a very nice drive. let's move to san mateo bridge and they are off to a good start as you drive through. now let's go back to the desk. >>> we continue to cover that breaking news out of san francisco, a deadly stabbing at the corner of market and octavia. tara moriarty is on the scene getting more information out there from investigators, tara? >> reporter: well, there is a very large police presence and i counted 11 patrol cars just in front of this apartment building and we now know the coroner is out there and they are in the lobby of this building and we saw some investigators on the stairwell trying to piece together what happened. this all unfolded shortly before 3:30 a.m. this morning and we are on the corner of market and octavia street. they found a man stabbed to death who was pronounced dead when they arrived and the motive remains under investigation. the victim's identity is being held. and they climbed town and nobody is being allowed to move the body.
