fantastic changes happening to the park and the new recreation center in chinatown, new play grounds and athletic fields and one of the special projects at mission play ground around 24th and valencia. yesterday we had the great pleasure of cutting a ribbon in the richmond. here in district ten there is a park renaissance. we are seeing incredible things happening thanks to the parks bond and we have a new play ground at mclaren park and new restrooms at bay view hill top and mclaren and the improvements here. since 2010 the port has been an incredible partnership and promoting our youth stewardship program and our program and we have the inaugural class and kids products of this neighborhood and learning environmental education. they are getting paid. it is work and helping to steward the land and learning leadership skills and i want to name a couple of folks from that program. kimberly who runs the vote tear programming and zoey and brenda from green acres. where is brenda? she's not here and carolyn from the port who we

i absolutely love this neighborhood, the people, the buildings, the parks. it is truly a magical neighborhood in our city. i also applaud the notion of celebrating the history of our neighborhood. i think there's a lot to celebrate there. the process that supervisor wiener and mary brown have followed has been have been good however i'm completely opposed to this particular proposal. i believe that it is redundant in many ways, it's burdensome to the people who live and own in the neighborhood. and it provides nothing for our neighborhood, and in particular the park, which even as mary mentioned is central to the history of the neighborhood. i've actually e-mailed all of you my specific articles so you have that detailed. what i want to put on the record today is a list of 18 residences, 16 are owners, all of them are opposed to this designation. this is not lent to represent everyone who is opposed but those who i could speak with personally and gave me permission to present their names today. so i have -- i was at the mercy of someone else's printer so i on

on the point of bike parking, i also want to, even though we're not required to do any at the theater, we are studying very carefully to have bicycle parking in the lobby. and right now our architect is here and we've done some initial analysis that appears it is going to yield about 25 valet parking spots inside the theater lobby. this has been done in austin. the ceo tim league is a cyclist and he loves the idea of providing more bicycle parking. so, we're thrilled about that. also in the existing space, aside from the parking spaces that we're asking, the .75, there is room for us to add at least another 20, potentially a few more spots and the project architect could address that. but we're committed right now. we have 41 bicycle spaces. we could do at least another third bicycle spaces in the garage so long as they were not class 1 which requires a lot more space. but we could definitely do that. in terms of the parking, part of what happens when you take the affordable housing out -- off-site, that requires additional absorption and it makes it more difficult to sell the units w

and a lease with the uptown parking corporation for the sutter stockton garage. both of the general terms for both leases are essentially the same. they are 10-year leases for $1 and they both have two 5-year options to extend. a provision of termination for cause with a 90-day notice. both leases are updated to incorporate new provisions and that include sfmta facilities and management regulations, corporation employee hiring guidelines, and a change in the capital set aside from a percentage net income to an annual fixed amount. the japan center garage totaled 920 spaces and generates $4.2 million annually and accommodates 500,000 transient vehicles. the sutter stockton garage is 1 865 spaces on 12 levels. this garage generated l12.8 million annually and accommodated 500,000 transient vehicles annually. the japan center garage corporation lease, the current lease was entered into in 2002. the current lease expires in 2017. so that corporation technically is not obligated to enter into a new lease, but i think this demonstrates their desire to work with the city
