you've got to park on the street but parking on the street makes it unsafe. a few others things the speed bumps. i don't want accidents. i'd rather see speed bumps and mirrors. trimming away some of the trees on the forest side that makes it a little more vision there and it's been brought up that some people say repaving the roads making the streets wired. the widening of the existing road would be a pretty expensive endeavor. there might be some cooperate venture. maybe we could have a retaining wall and the benefits not all of you but the existing homes and residents are having problems with their - chief and joanne says the street seems to be wide enough and the street that is being provided for 20 feet is wide enough and there's a plays to turn emergency vengeance around. i think we need to do our parting to use some i thought existing space to provide housing that's appropriate for families in other areas crestline i drive along most everyday. i see a lot of lots that could be used. this is one that's been approved many years ago. i like the idea of the

my fence is abutted against the park above it. in 1981 i put out three fires from fire crackers and i will cut down the trees at the time that were abutted up against our house as long as you haul them away. we cut a deal. it worked. i planted ivy and have been taken care of that and we twim it once or twice a year. the neighborhood was threatened with speeding cars. many of us coordinated to make the streets safer. also a decade ago we were a saturday night hang out for teenagers drinking and smoking pot. we worked with different agencies to stop those parties and we filled the cap to help workers from rec and park and we sweep up the trimmings to prevent the plugging of suing lines. we are proud of our area and happy to work with many excellent rec and park workers over the years. in 2008 neighbors complained there were shovels on the street and the park right above it and someone had been using tools to carve a trail all the way up to the hill. dennis kern told us "we agree with you. this trail needs to be removed from our park

and recently a grant for the visitation green valley development project and for buena vista park and we urged congress to provide funding so that was our main legislative initiatives. two others very quickly the national recreation park association is looking for a sponsor of a park infrastructure and finance act. the act is modeled after the transportation infrastructure finance and innovation act in place since 1998 and create a program for competitive loans and credit for the construction or cost of projects. this is a great way to leverage existing public funding or private funding to fill the gap. for example we have a funding gap for the sustainable nursery project in the botanical garden in golden gate golden gate park and this would be a mechanism to close that for that project, and finally we are advocating for the reconstruction and support of the community parks revitalization act and sponsored by kay hagan to carry out a revitalization program for the rehabilitation of critically needed parks and recreation areas and facilities and significantly the development of imp

i'm the president of friends of mclaren park. it is one of the oldest neighborhood community park groups in san francisco. i give a lot of tours through the park. during those tours, a lot of the folks in the group will think of the park as very scary. it has a lot of hills, there's a lot of dense groves. once you get towards the center of the park you really lose your orientation. you are very much in a remote area. there are a lot of trees that shield your view from the urban setting. you would simply see different groves that gives you a sense of freedom, of being outdoors, not being burdened by the worries of city life. john mclaren had said that golden gate park was too far away. he proposed that we have a park in the south end of the city. the campaign slogan was, people need this open space. one of the things that had to open is there were a lot of people who did a homestead here, about 25 different families. their property had to be bought up. so it took from 1928 to 1957 to buy up all the parcels of land that ended up in

and i think ricardo is joining us from the department of parking and traffic, thank you. >> good morning, chair, kim, members of the board, ricardo lao with agency and i am the city traffic engineer. the tragic events that happened on saturday, it is something that we really are concerned with. our department is striving hard to promote bicycle both as a alternative mode of transportation and every year, about one to two bicyclists are killed on our roadways and that is something that we want to stop so this is something that we are going to be looking into. at this point, we have not gotten the collision report from the san francisco police department and so we don't know the exact details of what happened in terms of the collision, what we know is what you have seen in the press and in blogs, so i don't want to speculate in terms of that incident and i know that i will be looking at that roadway, between third and second in the westbound direction of the roadway that does not have a bike lane and we will looking to see what we can do to improve that. we most recently changed all. pedes

next question. >> going off the bicycle parking to all the mobile parking, i am with the san franciscobicycle coalition. we were talking last night in oakland about various cities and the congestion issues and congestion pricing versus perhaps parking pricing. i was wondering if he could tell us the politics of pricing automobile parking versus congestion parking. in at san francisco, one of the biggest challenges is car is going past you at 40 m.p.h. and getting cars to go slower and not be in the city as we were looking at on market street. a lot of it is about reducing cars. i know in copenhagen, we look at what has been done with diminishing car parking, but maybe speak to car parking as part of this. >> in copenhagen, the cars cost double price because of taxes. not so many people have a car. copenhagen is like new york, i guess, people do not need cars as much. many people want to commute into the center from the suburbs. that is what we want to prevent. that is why we have such high costs, high taxes on parking your car. the closer that you get to the center, the more expensive.
