we have 15 members that are in the parking industry. some numbers i've aware of and representing our numbers there's 15 hundred members working in downtown san francisco in large office building like class a and b and hotels and the sfmta garages. those parking garages are about 5 hundred or so people working in the industry including a number who won't be in a labor managerial positions but a small percentage of workers that are known as the underground economy that are not being paid with all the restrictions that are required of an employer playing by the rules. it's unfortunate and frustrating. we've been to law enforcement agencies both to the federal and local agency and gotten little relief. there are 15 hundred workers that are working for cash. it's our belief that by putting more keys in the police code there will be a today is initiative. the exploitation of folks don't notice this. but we have evidence of workers who don't even have california driver's license that are moving cars on san francisco streets. their undocumented.

it's been a great opportunity for us in the west end of golden gate park. we're not the most importantly in golden gate park we don't get the touching but locals every day and this is a wonderful thing. i want to thank the hell man family and dawn holiday for helping us. >> thank you. >> hello, i'm charley williams and i'm the park supervisor so far section one and sharon is in section one of the golden gate park. i can say our part of the park is highly visible by a lot of people and we have to have this done early it only gives a few hours this meadow is very big. in the summer we have kids playing all the time. we waste a lot of water by having to put it out the water might be out for one or two hours by having an irrigation system we'll be able to get everything water evenly and we have many activities that occur there. so it gives a gardener more time to work on his beating beat instead of just putting out water. that's it. >> any public comment? dawn. >> well, i'm hoping you'll take the hell man money faster some other monies. >> thank you. >> i think

i'm the president of friends of mclaren park. it is one of the oldest neighborhood community park groups in san francisco. i give a lot of tours through the park. during those tours, a lot of the folks in the group will think of the park as very scary. it has a lot of hills, there's a lot of dense groves. once you get towards the center of the park you really lose your orientation. you are very much in a remote area. there are a lot of trees that shield your view from the urban setting. you would simply see different groves that gives you a sense of freedom, of being outdoors, not being burdened by the worries of city life. john mclaren had said that golden gate park was too far away. he proposed that we have a park in the south end of the city. the campaign slogan was, people need this open space. one of the things that had to open is there were a lot of people who did a homestead here, about 25 different families. their property had to be bought up. so it took from 1928 to 1957 to buy up all the parcels of land that ended up in

everything is complete except the two projects at maclaren park. they are working on the gym floor repair now. the last year deferred maintenance project should be completed shortly for the item before you, for fy 13-14. the department's proposal to continue major infrastructure repair and replacement as the principal focus of deferred maintenance and among those of the significant requirement the integrity of the studio building roof. this building built in 1888 is victorian romes k building and two devastating fires one in 1974 and another in 1980. several restorations to the building have been accomplished. in 1991, the original stone slate roof was opened with synthetic slate. it doesn't contain asbestos is now decomposing. it's surrounded the building. our proposed roof replacement will remove the existing synthetic tiles and replace with stone tiles thus restoring the building to its original context and with an exceptionally long life cycle. this project will reuse some of the pieces that are in good and serviceable condition such as the fibe
