it's a big priority of ours in the park districts. a couple of things we do to deal with the youth we have the national light out every year at the boys and girls including club where the kids have positive interaction with the officers they bring out the bomb be responsibly it's a hit with the kids ease it's a great opportunity for positive interaction. we have regular storehouses at the station of school kids who come out to the station and look at the cars and the patty wagon is a big hit kids love checking out the padding i didn't wagon we get the hours out there and it's positive interaction with the children it creates a very good bond with us with the kids. another thing that's important is our school resource officers. we have two school right away officers who are dedicated to patrols at the 24 schools we have in the park district. their volunteers and what i believe is very important we keep those two officers year after year they have that assignment because it's important to build the relationships with the various children

five renovations and one new park construction. the boat park renovation is currently under construction. it's a $5.3 million full flight renovation and the project between rpd. the construction expected to be completed by the end of the summer with a ground breaking in the fall -- i'm sorry, a park opening. next, the south park renovation, of course the commission approves the concept plan and the funding plan for this renovation last month, so you're familiar with the project. it's another full site renovation funding with a combination of bond dollars and development impact fees from the eastern neighborhood area plan. and construction is currently expected to begin june 2015. next die place park. it's funded by development impact fees, both the land purchases and the park construction. and it's a smaller sort of pocket park in ring con hill. and the capital division project manager for this site anticipates bringing the concept plan and the funding package to the commission for consideration in may. you can look forward to that soo

to close the golf course and to convert the park -- the golf course to wetland and to give sharp park to the ggnra. and that's what this is about. it's been alluded to by a few speakers on the other side, but that's really what this is about. it's kind of giving lip service to the frog and the snake because all of these things that they're putting -- these barriers they're pushing forward are in fact delaying the things that will in fact help the habitat and create better habitat for the frogs and snakes. and i think that the point that was just brought up most recently, which is that in order to do this, what was implied was a very small little flooding would be so wonderful is actually more on the order of 3 feet flooding the [speaker not understood], that's the crux of this. point of this is to get rid of the golf course. and please don't give in to this sort of legal temper tantrum of people who have been coming to you for years trying to get what they want. this is about their alternative, not about trying to consider everybody [speaker not understood]. it's about what they want.
