we know the port is we don't give them money from the general fund that has huge capital needs around the piers and elsewhere. if development is either reduced or delayed or shutdown entirely, do you see that eventually having impacts on the general fund or are we going to start letting the pier just slide into bay. how do you see that playing out you know it's a good question. i think there is a couple of things to think about. the port has some different deferred capital needs and they fund those capital investments through rent paying tennis on port properties and they are benefited by that development and by the ability to have new tennants. so i think that's important to think about. in terms of the overall general fund picture, the way i would think about it is, the loss of that development, how does that relate to any revenue outlook that the city's general fund might have. to the degree that there is less commercial activity plan or less commercial activity happens in a proposed development because it's down sized or eliminated altogether. that could have an impact on a revenu

this is a very important park for the city as well as the port. it's also a really important catalyst for the historic rotation of the 20th street buildings we need to keep it moving to get it done and open to the public as quickly as possible as anna said the eastern neighborhoods when it was rezoned it had a lot of mixed use for industrial doesn't include much paradoxes or open space. so the port has role been tasked with providing that open space and i think the participation of the dog patch and katrero hill community and all the neighbors along third street has been informative because the support for this project and the support for this park has been overwhelming i can't tell you how many meetings they've been well attended. we've evolved the design over time and a come has been responsive what should go where and also very responsive to the waterfront design citizen's advisory committee comments and the ac/dc comments it doesn't look like it did when we started but we're landline to see the evolution and there's money from 2008 and 2012 one
