the port, not myself. structural engineering manager from dpw, and geotechnical engineer from dpw. we advertised the project on august 11. a pre-proposal meeting was held august 19. it was standing room only. over 35 people representing 25 firms. proposals were due september 12. we received five proposals, all highly qualified, really the top firms in the bay area submitted proposals. scoring... while we cannot see this, but there was a clear break in scores at the written proposal stage with the top three firm all very close in score invited for interviews. they were ags, mayor's office at nickel joint venture, [speaker not understood]. i'll just mention that all five firms were joint ventured, and four of those were joint ventured with local business enterprise partners. after the interviews the scores became even closer, with just a few points separating as you can see. 367.65 for the winning firm and 365.5 for second place. incredibly close. but there was a clear and unanimous winner, which was the joi

they have notable projects for the sfpuc for the port, and for bart. they are highly qualified. the lbe subconsultant goal for this project was 25%. the team exceeds that by coming in at 25.9%. they have highly qualified teams of consultants including land economic consultants, structural engineers, solar consultants for cost estimating, global and [speaker not understood] firm in the bay area, [speaker not understood] civil engineering firm in the bay area, esa -- esa, an environmental firm, and [speaker not understood] geotechnical. the next steps will hopefully be to authorize the awards today. otherwise, to proceed november 24th. preliminary results would then come in may of next year. final results in september of next year. the contract value as mentioned before is at $425,000, so, it's a one-year duration. it's not a lot of money for all we want to accomplish and, so, this team -- and, in fact, all the teams came in with plans to really attack the problem and give us high value. and with that i'll conclude my presentation. any questions? >> so moved. >> second. >> any publ

so, the port provided a represent credit to help fund the cost of installation of that shore side power system. direct credit is taken at a rate of $300,000 per year. so, for a ten-year projection that rent contract is supposed to be [speaker not understood] in 2017. ~ rent credit bae has not collected those rent credit. the balance of that rent credit will be carried over into the new lease. also, the existing lease has a yearly termination provision which is a stand out point that tenants often require in the lease to say if things are not going the way they had planned or projected, [speaker not understood] they want an opportunity to help out. when the fifth amendment to the current lease was entered into in 2007, bae was not given the option to be able to [speaker not understood] not until january this year. so, that was a six and a quarter year from when that provision was provided. so, we're carrying forward the same term into the new lease because the new lease is going to be for 20 years. so, we are including an option, new yearly termination until 12 years into the new lease.

port workers. ryan takeo reports on the impact on the port of oakland. >> the port of oakland we had problems with the longshoremen who walked out. >> reporter: port of oakland walked off the job three straight shifts earlier this month complaining of defective equipment. the pacific maritime association alleges there have been other slowdowns up n down the west coast this month. >> when it happens, you know, a week and a half ahead of black friday, you have delays and last-minute goods that are destines for retailers. >> reporter: management and workers are in the middle of tense labor negotiations. the potential for a lockout or a strike worries retailers which would cost our economy hundreds of millions of dollars. the national retail federation recently sent a letter to president obama asking for a federal mediator to help settle the dispute. the group warned a full shutdown of every west coast port may be imminent. and the impact would be catastrophic. >> workers feel like they are taking the fall for this. and i think that's led to a lot of frustration. >> reporter: the union doesn't deny me

police are breaking up a sideshow near the port of oakland. dozens of the cars involved in the sideshow have been corralled by oakland police. about 100 cars, you see one of them there, but right around this area, about 100 other cars essentially blocked by police. it's a stand still happening right now. this is at 7th and maritime near the port of oakland. >>> a close call in the air. pilots are warning of a new danger that involves drones flying near the country's airports. since june, there have been 25 near collisions between airplanes and unmanned flying machines, talking about the drones, of course. more than 150 incidents this year. pilots have had to change course, but the faa is expected to reveal rules on drones. >>> twitter is getting nosey with your apps. twitter started collecting data on apps that are downloaded and installed on your phones. if you ore a twitter user, it's automatic, unless you turned on the tracking option. that's the limit add tracking option. the data will help engineers personalize content. if users turn it of

the fisherman's cbd, both port side and land side, will expire on june 30th, 2020. staff of the cbd are comprised of 3 main staff, executive director troy campbell, who is with us today, program manager ruell daniels and marketing communications manager rachel brown. the three components of service areas at the fisherman's wharf covers is district identify and streetscape improvements, street operation, beautification and order and admin and corporate operations. in terms of financial review, owd reviewed 4 benchmarks, the first being whether the cbd was between 10 percentage points between their management plan and their budget for the years. second is whether or not on an annual basis they were able to collect 5 percent of their budget from non-assessment revenues, the third being whether or not between their budget and actuals were within 10 percentage points of each budget item and the fourth being whether or not they identified how many funds were being carried forward into the next fiscal year. in terms of benchmark 1 on the land side, fisherman's wharf cbd for

and at the port of oakland, a big sideshow. of police cars rushing to the scene. >> and kpix 5's anne makovec joins us now from the newsroom with he details on this story. >> reporter: these sideshows are very risky not only could there be car accidents, spectators are often hit and last night shots were fired. we caught a lot of the action from chopper 5 a car doing donuts in the street at 7th and maritime near the port of oakland. sideshows are illegal but have been going on in oakland for years, sometimes several cars are going at one time. there were hundreds of people watching at any given point taking their chances really by doing so. we have seen these cars veer out of control into the crowd on several occasions. so where were the police during all of this? first, we saw several patrol cars just standing by for some time blocked and then they grew in numbers blocking in everybody at the scene and then spectators some of the people also performing in the show they tried to use that red van to crash through a cyclone fence

kimberly very generously thanked the port for it's participation in the greenagers program but it's the port who owes a debt of gratitude to the staff particularly for the greenageers program for their participation in heritage park. in just 3 years, the greenagers have contributed thousands of hours to heritage park but more importantly they have help the us at the pork achieve a deeper and lasting commitment to the park within the southeast community that it was intended to serve. i think that the fact that in only 3 years, the first members of the first two classes have gone on to leadership or employment opportunities within the recreation and parks or elsewhere is really a testament to the fact
