but the road appears to be okay. s slowing the traffic down in that regard but here in the ice on the dirt is collected to up to an inch in some spots. we have video of the chp arriving at valley medical center today. he went there with a leg injury and also some facial injuries, as well. but they say that the injuries are nonlife-threatening. now, at about 1:30 or 2:00 this morning, there was a pretty good thunderstorm cell that moved over this part of san jose dumping hail on the ground. it apparently caused one trouble for one driver. so the chp pulled over to help that person. and when the officer was on foot, that's when he was hit by that alleged drunk driver, went to the hospital. the cars there had some significant damage but again, that chp officer did not suffer any life-threatening injuries. i want to show you what some of this hail looks like out here. the pellets are about maybe an 8th to quarter inch in size. so a significant weather event that happened out here in west san jose. we'll hear more from the
