the flames actually burning to the edge of state road 407, causing troopers to shut down the roadway between i-95 and state road 405. traffic is being diverted away from the blaze. we were told that troopers decided to close state road 407 to traffic so crews could stop the fire from crossing over to the other side of the street where there was a neighborhood nearby. >> there's a lot of homes on the other side which could have been in danger. they were able to keep it contained by closing the road down and getting an aggressive foothold on this. >> reporter: we are still waiting for troopers to reopen state road 407. it could be at any time, very soon. as you can see behind me, we have a very, very large smoke and still very active scene going on out here. when the roadway does reopen, troopers are warning drivers there could be leftover smoke and fog in the area. cautious when the roadway reopens when they're driving up and down state road 407 and they could close the roadway again if necessary. >> matt: amanda castro, thank you. >> lisa: all the warm, dry weather we've been having h

the roadway is wet, the headlights are on, and the winds are blowing. a look at the conditions outside, mark? >> a potent storm moving into the bay area. the heaviest rainfall still out in the pacific. this is a widespread event not only in the bay area but up to our north, down toward point consumption here. and this will be the source of intense rainfall, 7:00 and 10:00. all of the heavy downpours out there, especially the yellows and oranges. in the north bay, showing you some of the action here. the rainfall intensity, about .75 of an inch an hour. still some pretty impressive cells closer to san ramon and danville. you can see that number jumping up, approaching an inch an hour. the entire bay area covered with at least moderate rainfall. the santa cruz mountains, look at all this action between morgan hill and gilroy. the rainfall has been picking up. we do have a flash flood watch posted until 10:00. this has not happened very often. but this is for the entire bay area. that means flash flooding is possible, just to be prepped for that. and we ha

although the roadways are wet. give yourself couple every extra minutes, you will need it specially taking interstate 95. ninety-five south at cottman, one of the areas we had crash right at 4:30 in the morning, lingered out there, became big nuisance and problem. that's now since cleared. but what you can see, how busy it is, only at 5:30 or so in the morning, also, how slick it is, you can see the snow that has accumulated, more on the grassy surfaces, the slick roadways, that's going to slow you down little bit as well. overall, just take note of what the weather elements are, and how busy it is for a friday. we don't typically see. that will so just make note of that, and also, 59, headlights northbound direction at washington area see the sign still out there. winter weather conditions use caution, that's right, travel at posted speeds, but we do have some speed restrictions in play, i'll get to knows in just an e movement new jersey 42 freeway at creek road what you are looking at. looking okay but certainly i
