i want to thank the director of the san francisco botanical garden society the san francisco botanical garden society has offered to donate the design and construction of the nursery as a gift in place valued at approximately $14 million. the nursery over replace the existing nursery, which has become run down and is always intended as a temporary facility. this new nursery will become the hub. all uses of the nursery you'll be to for the mission and purpose of the botanical gardens, including cultivating support for the botanical garden and the bond between people and plants. the tremendous support for schools and children's learning has been a wonder to see and observed at the arboretum as well. the nursery will be jointly used for the san francisco botanical garden societies staff. i know how hard they work. as well as restaurants with a shower and emergency eyewash station, and space for meetings related to gardening operations and for horticultural reference materials. before construction of the nursery begins, the society and the recreation and parks department will enter into a

her accomplishments include being the first black permanent teacher for the san francisco unified school district. teacher of the year, assistant professor of education at san francisco state university, board of education recognition of february 1998, san francisco alumni golden torch award, outstanding educator and 1995, and distinguished leadership plans in 1999. she is survived by her sister, her children, our grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. my last item is related to home to the dome. there was a famous poet, t.s. eliot who declared it april as the cruelest month. that was in the wasteland, but he realized in united states april is national poetry month. in honor of that, every year for the past seven years in city hall, we have had pelhams under the dome. i have a resolution declaring april 27 poems under the dome day in the city and county of san francisco. that will attract pellets from san francisco and across the bay as well. last year, we had one of our pilots -- when our poet laureates recite one of her poems and i'm honored to take part in helping to sponsor this

[applause] we are adopting two organizations where we will help place in turns. one of them is the sfpd future grad's program. it is focusing on keeping kids in high school. sf city is dunning $25,000 for scholarships -- donating $25,000 for scholarships for the program. there is a nationwide organization called summer qa camp. that organization is nationwide and places in turns into companies that need qa help. we will place over 25 in turns from 15 other companies who have signed up for summer camp. summer camp was founded -- someone you might recognize, jon bon jovi. sf city has committed to this program for years to come. it is the tech companies who are placing 2, 3, 4 interns this summer. next summer, they will be placing 20.
