how do you get him to talk to you while retaining the sovereignty and sanctity of the mueller investigationurrent? >> it's not so much the mueller investigation. there is periodic contact between the two investigations, because we don't want to step on each other's toes. for example, you wouldn't want the congress to bestow immunity on somebody that mueller was going after. that hasn't happened, but there's very little contact. the issue really, and this is sort of a fundamental issue for the congress of the united states. look, executive privilege exists for a reason. the president should be able to expect that his or her advisers are going to give unvarnished, straight-up advice without the fear that somewhere down the road a prosecutor or congress is going to ask to hear what's in those conversations. that's a conversation between the adviser and the president. this idea that during the transition anybody that steve bannon talked to, that that should somehow be kept from the congress, i would hope that my republican friends would remember that just not that long ago, in the benghazi inve

ultimately, the question here, isn't just about republican or democrat it is about the sanctity of then democracy. right now it is in question. in part because democrats tried to delegitimatize the president of the united states. they have tried to cast him aside as some aberration. they tried to cast him aside, he was the beneficiary of some russian russian heist of the american election without providing any facts surrounding that. there are operators within the united states federal government that have worked to undermine the president of the united states. they worked to undermine him during the presidential transition. they worked to undermine him as a candidate, to the benefit of hillary clinton. so our questions are, why were they doing this first of all? what did they see in candidate like hillary clinton? what is behind this? why isn't there any recourse? why is the justice department's to the president's point here, chasing this down to the logical conclusion. why are they not trying to find or root out to this corruption. stuart: do you have an answer to your own question?
