santa rosa police department has now taken over the case for the sonomaere involved in the shooting. santa rosa police say they have resources to handle an investigation like this and you can see they just brought in their mobile crime unit here to the scene indicating they'll be here for a while. this blocked off street you see here is off of highway 116 and we're right outside sebastopol and this is where deputies say a woman hit them with her car and where they opened fire shooting her several times. the sheriff's department first heard about this driver at 11:45 last night. someone called in to report she was driving backwards on 101 and exited the highway. deputies caught up with her five minutes later and was driving recklessly and refused to stop and sped away. they chased her. she stopped here but refused to surrender. investigators say as they approached her they say she put her car in reverse and rammed into three deputies and a patrol car and that's when they opened fire. several officers shot at her multiple times. she was hit a number of time
