how worried should investors be that what's going on in yemen, the southern arabian peninsula could be something that will trip stocks not just for a day or two but for a longer period? >> well tyler, as you know we're long-term bulls. we think the market is much higher but we have been calling for 5% to 10% correction. sometimes the markets get stretched and they almost look for a reason to sell off. we have four of five we think are going to come into play here. and we're starting to see them. one is concerning the fed and interest rates. two is oil. three is the economic numbers in the first quarter. we think they are going to be still off and then certainly, earnings we think the first quarter earnings number could be the worst earnings season in a while. and there's a lot of near term concerns. the other and, if you look through to the second half of the year almost everything we're worriet now is going to reverse. we're convicted on that and we think we're going to have a strong back after the year tyler and at some point, people start looking through that but in the meantime not

the indochina peninsula, heavy rain fell in the bangkok area over the past 24 hours. more to come in to tuesday in the central and northern areas of the country. now, down towards the southern hemisphere we have been watching tropical cyclone nathan. nathan made landfall in queensland last week, and it made the second landfall over the week -- over the northern areas of the northern territory. and that is about to make the third landfall as a category 3 system. the landfall will be around tuesday morning. very destructive winds, as much as 170 kilometers are likely. and then move along the coast towards the west in to wednesday or even thursday. so heavy rain is likely to happen over a wide area some areas will see an additional 200 millimeters of rain. the ground is already very well saturated. additional rain worsening the situation. and across europe nasty weather continues over the mediterranean countries. we have one system over italy that has caused flooding in sardinia on sunday. now, the threat of thunderstorms, gusty conditions heavy rain will continue into monday morning for the south of italy, and the balkan peninsula. the system will move out as we go in to the

the world, ararian peninsula. so much of the world's oil flows from the persian gulf down through the southern tip of yemen, all the way up to the red sea. that is why it matters what's going on right now in yemen. you're talking about the coalition of countries, let's show you where those countries are. we're going to talk about this region right now you have countries as far away asthmain morocco. some are providing diplomatic support, some are providing troops to secure that waterway off the coast of yemen where those tankers pass through. but as we move on to the next part we have to understand why this matters for the united states. the u.s. for a very long time had a major counterterrorism operation in yemen. it still insists it will act. it had to withdraw its special forces from the country as the situation continued to worsen. as we were talking about the houthi rebels they have been in the past allegedly supported by iran. receiving money, financial support, training. seeing yemen fall to the houthi rebels would seem that iran has put another arab country under its influence. the allies would be concerned

the arabian peninsula for years. that apparently included them operating a very low-profile u.s. air base in yemen called al anad, outside the southern coastal city of aden. this weekend those special operation forces those elite troops that have been at that air base, they abandoned that air base. and today the iran-backed shia rebels who are right now in the process of taking over the country of yemen by force, the houthi rebels overran that base and broadcast this video of their fighters running through and ransacking anything they could. in the face of the rebels, the country's president had already fled yemen's capital several months ago and taken refuge in the southern city of aden near the u.s. base. today the country's president didn't just flee aden, he fled the country, too. he escaped the country by boat bound for lord knows where. people are guessing jabouti. there are a few different things that are important here. one is the sobering realization this is the fourth country that to some degree has collapsed after libya and syria and iraq, maybe it's the fifth one if you count egypt, too, so that's the world falling apart

southern movement says egyptian warships fired on a road leading to aden. we explain why yemen is so strategically important. >> reporter: yemen is one of the most deeply divided and poorly governed nations on the arabian peninsula, a country of unforgiving mountainous terrain. but it's of vital importance to the region and the united states itself. they have oil reserves. and 3 million barrels pass through the area every day. but they are battling lawlessness in every direction. al qaeda in the araben peninsula established their place back in 2000, with an attack on the u.s.s. cole in aden harbor. 17 soldiers were killed. most recently, the al qaeda branch there claimed responsibility for the deadly "charlie hebdo" attack in france. once limited to the north's mountainous the regions, houthi rebels now have control of yemen's capital, much of its coast and aden. oil-rich saudi arabia is concerned that the violence could spill over into its country and affect its oil production. it's also worried that further houthi advancement could increase iran's influence in the region and it's taking measures to reeft that. saudi arabia considers this a direct threat to its own sovereignty. the saudi kingdom and a coalition
