the southwest monsoon is active now. the upper 20s across much of the region. the exception is going to be the northern half of japan where temperatures are way above average. let's take a look now into the americas. out towards the west, the western two-thirds of the continent looking fine. we have two systems that will merge and bring a lot of heavy rain across eastern canada and the u.s. today. a flash flooding could be an issue for you in parts of quebec. severe weather and strongest storms will be epting acro georgia and alabama during your monday to tuesday overnight and theheading in towards the mid-atlantic. frost could be an issue for you in ontario and the upper midwest as well. out towards the pacific, 27 degrees in seattle. you're likely to see this continue well in towards the end of the workweek. as we head into europe, across the north, not much of a change here. we have a tree of low pressure systems coming in. we'll see storms moving through the central continent from germany down in and towards north eastern portions of spain. it's also going

hoping to enhance the southwest monsoonal flow. again, means heavy showers are possible. the flooding and landslide, mudslide, will also be -- possibilities. as for japan, well, maybe see some heavier rain in parts of the prefectures. elsewhere, a good chance of thunderstorms. maybe, you can see showers in the capital here today as well. let's go to the americas see what is happening with tropical storm lez knee. and right now, it is stationary. it is going to continue its course toward bermuda. arriving around the weekend. as a hurricane. before that happens now. we are watching for sea swells, created by strong wind that could affect -- the virgin island. puerto rico, the leeward island. for now, affecting bermuda. we are just watching the system over the next few days. watching out for the effects. a tropical depression. sitting west of mexico. and going to have to bring showers down across the baja peninsula. and looking dry across the western half of the united states. and there is plenty of rain around. but, fire weather created by those dry conditions, as well as st

northern vietnam, the pink shows you where the southwest monsoon is very active. parts of thailand as well as back toward the bay of bengal. you could see flooding issues with the ongoing heavy rain in certain places. locally heavy rain also targeting the philippines today. taking a look at temperatures starting to cool down as we head into autumn. 25 in seoul. warmer in tokyo. 32. we are also clinging to the low 30s in the tropics. all right. to north america now. it looks like a clear day across much of the continent from mexico up through canada. dry and bright skies. however, a few things to mention. we'll see moderate showers and gusty winds moving through ontario into the great lakes region. most of this big mess, some severe storms coming off the front line yesterday. a lot of that pushed into the atlantic, but it will be wet for you in parts of quebec and the tail end will be lying over florida. you will see more showers today. you will certainly notice though it's dry that it will be cooler in the east. you could see frost thursday morning in new england a

the next few days so it is not going to make a direct impact on the country but it could in the southwest monsoon so you will see intensifying showers and rough seas and moderate to strong winds for the next few days. looks like it will move towards the north over the next few days and become a strong typhoon by saturday morning and affect the okinawa islands or taiwan sometime between saturday night into sunday. stormy conditions are possible over the weekend here and moving over the china sea. we'll keep you posted on the storm's progress. as for the rest of east asia, a tropical depression to the east-southeast of japan will stay over the waters but heavy rain continuing in northern japan and has had about 300 millimeters of rain over the past four days or so and the ground is saturated. unfortunately an additional 100 millimeters of thunderstorms and gusty winds will likely continue at least into tonight. out towards the west heavy rain will be shifting towards the southeast. temperatures are looking like this, cooling down to 24 degrees and still on the hot side in shanghai and 30 degrees an

moving closer to the archipelago and enhancing the southwest monsoon which has been active over the philippines the last several days. we're expecting significant rainfall over the next three days as the storm approaches. we also have more-rain expected. in is monsoonal activity over china. particularly thailand today. south of the river, we're seeing a very developed rain band. that could produce maybe 100 millimeters of rain in some places over the next 24 hours. we'll see showers popping up through central portions of japan today. temperature are coming down a little bit in japan. in tokyo, looking for 29 degrees. but that is still above average for this time of year. other places are starting to cool. 25 degrees in beijing. 24 here. and still in the low 30s in the tropics, manila, and bangkok. let's go now to north america. really clear skies across much of the continent. high pressure in place all the way through toward the east and to the atlantic coast. however, showers are going to be coming down off of this slow-moving system, coming through ontario. and also florida is in for a soakin
