is not as highlighted as the great work that happens in the stations, the fire houses. but it is really everyone. it touches everyone. everyone since 1989 has been part -- minimum requirement is that they are emts and they work at every station. i'm an emt and anybody who has been hired since '89 has to keep up their emt certification. and we have the subset that provides life support. so, ems week should be appreciated by all because it's the firefighters, emts in the stations and the paramedics that work at some at the stations and some at station 49. everyone on the command staff that i'm looking at, including chief ollie, who is the senior member, is an emt. -- roughly in the july time frame. pump station two is our other major sea water pumping facility for the abss, and that project is in construction. we're doing hazardous material abatement and historic arti fact preservation at the moment, and then we'll move into the structural improvements that we plan to do in that building. we had intended to advertise or abss pipeline grochlt contract in may. it looks like that'll be in june, and that involves a series of motorized valves including a new water supply on clarendon near summit reservoir. for eser 2014, we are in construction on irving street pipeline. similarly with ashbury bypass pipeline, we're waiting for that to get another way, a public works project and finally mariposa francois. and a good portion of that pipe is already installed on what's about -- which will eventually become the rhea lined terry francois boulevard. up coming milestone we're joining with a public works pipeline to connect on 19 avenue. and we have another project known as ingleside university mound. mo

they're there from the moment the station opens around 4:00 a.m. in the morning to the time it closes at 1:00 a.m. and their job is to do a few things. first, they greet our customers, bart and muni. they greet the customers and take information about the types of customers that are using the elevators. they do an actual count, every time someone comes in. and record that information. so first, i'd like to give you data and then i'll tell you about the responses we've heard from many people. so we have always known the elevator was well used, i don't think we had a sense of how well used it really, really was. and we think with all of the promotional and the marketing and the stories around the elevator attendant, that increased that number. but i am happy to report, so the first three days, we saw an average at civic centre, almost 1900 users. so your jaws can drop, because mine certainly did. we also did capture different types of users. we cover people with bikes, people with strollers, luggage and ada. i want to be clear, we don't ask people if

i got to hang out with them, and take a look at it and get a tour of the station. it really is beautiful, a state-of-the-art station. it is worthy of this department, and it's cool to see. so i was there for a little barrett and i went over to station two, the arson task force over there and had lunch with them, and that was it wase experience. a lot like station 35. thirty-five is a lot older, it seems. it is a little station and needs some work, but it was really interesting and good to see the relationship between the police department, because the police department heads of people station there, as well, for obvious reasons. i didn't know we actually had members of our departments that are armed, for purposes of arson. i guess that totally, it makes sense, thinking about it but i did not know. it was interesting to see. it was an interesting experience to learn more about fire and what they do and hats off to the chief, because they express the support they've been getting from the chief's office, to make sure that that unit even existed. i don't think too far b

and the san leandro station. let me talk about the other big issue we've been tracking all morning long. that is the crash here in crockett. this has shut down the two right lanes of eastbound interstate 80 right before you get to the carquinez bridge. as you can see there you have the cars getting by in that far left lane. only and right now we have cleanup going on after an earlier big rig crash. this big rig overturned in the middle of the night and burst into flames. one person inside that truck was seriously hurt. there you see the wreckage of that rig after it was pulled away from the scene. but again, major cleanup operation following this big rig crash. now, there was a secondary crash as a result of that degree crash. so just up the road, also on eastbound 80 in the crockett area, this crash happened shortly after that first big rig accident. and we have just learned from the chp that one person was killed in that crash again to a secondary crash, a car apparently slammed into a truck in that area. and on
