but from the standpoint of the transportation authority and the funding we are pleased to be a partner in that as soon as those issues are addressed. i also would like to and i'm really glad that the union brought up the issue of operator rest rooms and because even under prop k, the money that was ear marked for operator rest room thises is a serious issue in the city that the operators needs to have the ability to go to a rest room at the end of the line or somewhere, safely, and in a dignitied, way and we see the buses double parked, and the issues with the operator rest rooms that the mta and even before it was just mun i has had decade long engagement process and it is difficult to find in the neighbor as to where to locate these facilities, whether it is the end of the line or other places there is always an issue with that as a recall and this was a long time ago, we started with 14 locations city wide and then the number, as the muni representatives engaged the neighborhoods and worked through the issues and so on, shrink to about 7 or so and we were posed to fund whatever was

hope happens- especially with the major projects - that we continue to focus on how the county transportation authority interacts with the mta and other agencies involved in various projects that we are funding. i know that in the state of the city address, mayor lee indicated that public transportation % specifically the mta is going to be a top priority for him. i know he is putting together a working group that is going to be looking at those issues and i hope that at that work continues the county transportation authority is an important part of that discussion. the reality is that we as an agency fund many of the projects that make public transit work in the city and county of san francisco. we have to have a seat at the table. we look forward to working with mayor lee in that endeavor. the last thing that i want to say on a more personal note, this will be my last meeting as chair of this county transportation authority. i want to thank my colleagues % some of them are not here because they were termed out, forgive me the vote of confidence in selecting me as chair. has been an honor serving in t

and i would like to wish the board good luck and god speed in fearing the san francisco transportation authority into many successful years and cutting edge work in the future, so thank you all. and now, for the actual substance of the report, a few things that i would like to announce, the first one is that the american road and transportation builders association and its 24th meeting in washington, d.c. gave the city and parkway the project of the year award as or because of the outstanding contributions to the advancement of public, private partnerships. and we all need to be aware of and proud of. the project was the first public partnership in the state of california, based on availability payments. in a way it was a leap of faith for the folks approving the project and in many ways it was not. because we did a tremendous amount of work to assure everyone, starting with this board that this was a, it was a great thing put passed and braise the trails of the future that will give us cost certainty and schedule certainty and we looking forward to that. i am looking to 2013 which i promise tha
