now, it's now made its way out into the pacific. to a tropical storm but still seeing winds at 70 miles an hour. it's working its way towards the west at 13 miles an hour and since it made its way all the way across land without losing the tropical characteristics or the designation, it keeps its name so even though we've moved the storm from the atlantic basin now into the pacific, it still maintains the name tropical storm tuesday of next week, it will eventually dissipate over some cooler waters. now, we're going to watch the fronts working their way across the southeast down over us, some scattered clouds, warmer temperatures. over the next couple of days, as the fronts move through, eventually they dry the atmosphere out so we turn a little lower on the humidity as we go through monday and tuesday of next week. but yet again, we'll be watching another front, that third front of next week and that will eventually bring us a better chance of some showers as we get into wednesday and thursday of next week. for today, partly cloudy skies. daytim

we're still talking about the tropics. very late in the season to be talking about this, but we still have what, almost a little over -- a little under a week left of the hurricane season. this made landfall across nicaragua yesterday with winds of 110 miles an hour. it's now moved out into the pacific, is now downgraded to a tropical storm but because it maintained that tropical intensity all the way across, it keeps the name even though it's moved the pacific. there's the latest coordinates on this one. winds right now are at 70 miles an hour. it will continue to work its way towards the west and eventually looks like it will dissipate as we get into the first part of next week. we're going to watch the fronts working their way across the state. just partly cloudy skies, warm afternoon for today with the daytime highs into the lower 80s but eventually here comes another cold front. that will clear the skies out, maybe bring a little bit cooler so the forecast for today, not bad. partly cloudy skies. daytime high of 81 deg

i do want to take your attention to the tropics here in the atlantic. we're talking about this area back with hurricane matthew, that one caused pretty extensive damage. what's going on here in the northern dominican republic is actually the tail of some westerly storms pulling up to the north. that's going to fire up some pretty intense thunderstorms this week. here's some video coming out of northern areas of this country where we have had thousands of people, about 20,000 in fact, evacuated along the northern coast of the there are people cut off from other areas. and the president medina, threw through some of the worst hit areas and declared it a national emergency. so hopefully they'll get some relief in there, as far as the relief supplies, but as far as the forecast, the tail end of that front continuing to lichker, on and off thunderstorms kmmted there. back to the north, if you have any travel plans across much of the central u.s., this is something you want to be watching out for. look at this low, really wrapping up, you have that occlusion,
