tonight the state of your union. a few hours president obama will give the annual state of the union address talking about his many initiatives including his efforts to bolster the economy but there are certain numbers the president almost certainly will not mention, but i will. starting with job growth. since president obama took office five years ago, he rate of job growth has been anemic nowhere near enough to make up for the 8.7 million jobs lost in the great recession. and even if the economy suddenly booms, it still could take years to get the u.s. back to prerecession leaflets when the job less rate was below 5%. while obama is likely to tout the unemployment rate falling from 6.7% from a high of 10 in 2009. the reason for the drop won't make the speech. millions of americas are dropping out of labor force. if they were countered are the jobless rate would be at least 13%. >>> for those lucky enough to have a job wages are falling. app typical full-time worker made $8 30 a week. that's down, less since preside

so many this year's state of the union address, the president is promising to go it alone. he says this will be a year of action. a year of executive actions without necessary congressional approval. for example, the president is going to announce an executive order that will raise the minimum wage to $10.10. he is also expected to announce executive actions on job training, retirement training, and help for the long-term unemployed. >> rather than sit and wait for congress to take action, we're going to go ahead and roll out on our own. i think as we have seen over the last several years now, congress sometimes is a little slow to action. we're not going to wait for that. we believe the american people are looking for concrete, realistic proposals to see the progress and opportunity for everybody. >> you could ask members of both parties to help them make 2014 a year of real action. rather than just a talking point. if he does, he's going to find he has a lot of support from republicans. because we want to work with him to get things done and we always have. >> now the one

president obama to present his state of the union address tonight. president will address an audience that is expected to be far smaller and far more pessimistic than in years past. a brand-new pool from "the wall street journal" today finding that two out of three americans now say that the country is stagnant or worse off since president obama took office. 37% say this nation is divided. in 23% described it as trouble. 21% say deteriorating. the television audience has been on a steady decline since he first took office. last year to uninstall the 33 million viewers and that is the smallest audience for a state of the union in two decades. his first national address as president was watched by 52 million people. president obama is threatened expected to threaten executive action for the income equality agenda after ordering a minimum wage hike for federal contractors earlier today. chief white house correspondent ed henry is at the white house with our report. >> even before he was done with the finishing touches on tonight's speech, president obama
