what is going to happen to all the upper level clouds and all the moisture from hurricane amanda winds sustained at 25 miles per hour. off the southern tip of baja, california. slows down on its approach to mexico. what is interesting is moisture from that system is going to start to get directed up towards baja, california, and perhaps parts of southern california and something we will watch in our own forecast here. we'll see a few extra clouds out of the south and for now a big story today. and 70s to 80s today and a brief warm up as high pressure tries to make a comeback on thursday and allow mid to upper 80s inland around thursday and then for the weekend a trough of low pressure move in that is going to reinforce the sea breeze and drop our temperatures down and that is the cause of the cool down. today 78 degrees in san jose and mid-60 closer to san francisco and into the forth bay, highs in the 70s to low 80s and about the same range today out near the tri-valley. now, for a check of your commute, here's mike. >> rob, looking over here towards the south bay and northbound 101 c

winds are with us this morning and we don't have any moisture out across the ocean, at least as the upper levels so that fog that typically moves in with that onshore breeze just hasn't had a chance to develop. but tomorrow a different scenario. we will be waking up to fog at the coastline and here are your microclimate temperatures for today. san jose, 83 degrees for your afternoon and morgan hill, you'll get 86 and palo alto 81 and you'll notice in san francisco the closer you get to the water, that is supposed to be cooler at 68 in the marina district and 70 right at ocean beach. napa 84 degrees and even pleasanton very pleasant, if you will, at 86 degrees. again, a little warm for this time of year. you know, our average high and most of our inland cities the mid-70s and about ten degrees above that for today. you may have heard us talk about it and the past weekend, a hurricane brewing across the pacific. this is hurricane amanda category 4 with sustained winds up to 140 miles per hour. you'll notice, though, as we put this into motion it will weaken considerably down to a tropical depressi

the trend is to weaken the system but what is left of the mid- and upper level moisture may drift closer to california by the middle part of the week. in the short term, another warm day for the bay area and then high pressure breaks down a little bit. it's going to leave cooling and then watching around wednesday and thursday, mid-level moisture from the former hurricane. we'll have to watch out possibly for lightning-sparked fires in california. and then a trough of low pressure, the opposite of what we're seeing now, a big ridge of high pressure dipping in the jet stream and the temperatures next weekend actually looking quite a bit cooler. we can see highs in the 70s coming up towards the ends of your seve your seven-day forecast. upper 60s to low 70s, holding up for memorial day, a bit cooler towards the middle part of the week. that's when the temperatures start to drop off. into the north bay tomorrow, highs in the mid-to upper 80s. winds picking up out of the south cooling off from the mid-90s. upper 80s to low 90s. that trend holds true on tuesday and wednesday. a 10-degree drop
