i sort of love the idea of in 1958 some usda employees sitting down somewhere to write an instruction manual on how to eat a cracker. [ laughing ] >> but the instructions that came with the crackers said that sort of every adult gets six crackers per day. 125 calories per cracker. so if you're doing that math real quickly in your head, that's not a lot of calories to get through. but the suggestion in the instruction manual was that you should break that into six separate meals over the course of the day because there wasn't a lot else to do in the fallout shelter.
