we're still looking at a big difference from the coast to the bay to the valley. we'll keep that coastal fog. at times it will be clearing out as our temperatures in the valleys reach into the upper 80s and low 90s. we'll see 60s near the coast a little closer to the marine layer and the fog. in gilroy, as we take a look at our ten-day forecast, even though it's going to be pretty hot today, a nice cooldown is coming for the end of the week as well as the weekend. take a look at saturday and sunday, reaching into the mid 70s and then back up a little bit for next week. overall with our seven-day forecast inland, we'll see hotter spots reaching into the mid 90s and low 90s for the end of the week. if you're making weekend outdoor plans, it does look really nice with mid to upper 80s. we'll see that into the start of next week. for san francisco, we keep the fog and we're not seeing things change here. each day we're headed for the upper 60s, low 70s with our morning starting out in the upper 50s with the clouds and fog remaining nearby. we should get some sunshine

we know that without the fog near the coast, those inland valleys tend to heat up so we're still looking at some upper 70s and mild weather in san francisco but the farther you make your way inland, the hotter it will be, reaching up to 105 degrees in the tri-valley as well as fairfield. we are still looking at some hot weather ahead and we'll talk more about that coming up. mike, you've been watching what's going on here around parts of the north bay. >> that's right, kari. this is unusual slowing. it's also unusually far north for what we typically cover but a lot of slowing, this crash over on the shoulder for west 80 is now a deadly crash situation and so that's unfortunate loss of a life here. we are also looking at the traffic flow which is slow because everything on the shoulder has a lot of life there, chp, fire department, davis into dixon held up traffic there and that's going to keep the traffic at bay a little bit longer as you get toward the carquinez bridge and benicia bridge. slower 880 approaching the bay bridge cleared. the bay bridge starting to build and san jose holds
