it's the smaller green patch. these three waterfront spaces will all be connected by the blue greenway which will extend through 1200 feet of waterfront. we looked at how to add to the rich network of more neighborhood scaled open spaces. these include wood yard park, and what will be irish hill in pier 70. to deliver on the request by providing a sports field and active fitness structure for all ages, including the waterfront. we then studied how to build upon and continue as a place of discovery. the most obvious is third street. where the ground floor use is contained within the american industrial center, reflects the dna of dog patch. using unique food and beverage places, commingling with retail as well as the neighborhood with retail, including the barber shop and nail care amongst the most affordable rates in the city. 22nd street continues with a small convenience store, saloon and delicious food options. you walk a few blocks and there is an art gallery. what you see here in orange is how the projects to the north and the powe

the waterfront is in crisis. people living on our streets are in crisis, and the need for services and shelter in this neighborhood is undeniable. over the past few weeks, i've heard countless visitors and neighbors speak about their concerns around the many people experiencing homelessness in their neighborhood or people experiencing mental health crisis on these streets or along the embarcadero. many of you here today have shared your personal experiences with us, including people who themselves have experienced homelessness. i agree that the city has to do a better job at preventing and addressing homelessness, and this navigation center has been proposed to be part of that solution, and i believe it will be. when i was campaigning here not too long ago, homelessness was the number one issue that consistently came up. the east coast c.b.d., community benefit district recently came up, and homelessness was the number one request. there are more than 100 requests made to 311 related to homelessness every single w

i do like the stepping of height to the waterfront because that is a signature of san francisco and ido not see this to be the side that would break the rule. it replicates to the hills, it allows people from the top to look over the dissenting height and participate in the waterfront rather then tall buildings two to close at the water charger edge blocking the view and taking away what is to the right of those people who have lived there before. i think this can be a very sensitive projects. i think it has made major steps forward. i'm interested in the mix of office, biomedical, hotel, as well as residential, with residential being the signature of the site. it seems to be two more embracing the basic ideas of what we like about the peer, and the more we can do that as it was prepped -- represented in the introduction, this becomes not just another site, but it becomes weaving the entire fabric of the waterfront into one piece and i think that will be a strong signature, and if we indeed can preserve some of the historic buildings, that will only continue the legacy of what this is

other two components of the citywide programs on the waterfront parks are projected to be complete at the end of the year, by january 2020. remaining in a citywide program 's component, are projects within urban forestry, trail restoration, and community opportunity funds. the parkas a final project in the waterfront parks components it's schedule was extended by a year and nine months. it is due to regulatory approvals from four different permitting agencies. those were big contributors to the delay. the 2012 clean and safe neighborhood parks program includes the same components as 2008 with the addition of the citywide parks components, and that is golden gate park, mclaren park, and lake merced park. neighborhood parks is the largest component with about half of the program's up budget the schedules for three of the four components were extended during the reporting period, and the last project in the citywide parks component is now projected for completion by january 2021. the delays are due to extended community engagement processes, coordination with utility agencies, and other
