things that we have had to present as part of the workshop is that we don't have the budget to complete the entire project as it's designed today we had to look at the available fundings and the cost for the project today with the 2008 & bonds and additional port funds our budge is 21 million for cran copark today. the estimates cost looking at construction cost and is plus an estimatemation contingency of 50% puts us at a subtotal of $33 million and are soft costs are between 30 and 33% and we have it at 33 and for a total cost of 43 and-a-half million dollar and this equates to $4.8 million in a customer, a acre which, is similar to other city front parks in the city and the other thing to note is because of the other high level conceptual of the park we have a 50% contingency because of the scion and that contingency can come down and those cost can come down but recognizing thats that's the best information that we have today and we might be look at what we might be able to phase as an initial projection of the park and what we can deliver as a first phase is outlined in yellow and

the daas website. we're doing workshops in the community. we have already done one we have one on february 14th at the bayview police commission from 5:30 to 7:00 at 201 williams. there is one on february 20th from 4:00 to 5:30 at the ihotel at 868 kearney. february 22, from 12:00 to 2:00 at the main library at 100 larkin in the auditorium. february 26th at 5:30 at union hall at 1338 mission street. at those workshops we'll show people how to fill out the time sheets. if people want to practice filling out time sheets, there are practice locations. providers can go to the union hall at 1339 mission and ask for assistance with practicing. they can come to the ihss independent provider enrollment center at 77 otis. they can get receive practice experience there and public authority is also willing to assist with practice and they ask that you call first. and their phone number is 243-3120. we have developed a powerpoint time sheet of those that have been accepted and rejected from the chico processing facility and that is up on our website. th

so in the workshop process, what it allows me to do to work with actors, particularly some of the african american characters, i can work with them to make sure the characters i am developing have a authentic, you know, authenticity to them and that they are from the inside out as opposed to sort of working from the outside in. so, for me, those kinds of things are critical so i spent a great deal of time making sure that the characters that were wrought that you will ultimately see on stage are truthful, are grounded in real life. so over this period of 3 1/2 to 4 years it was time well spent and it continues to be developed even as we speak. i'm going to go home and do some more rewriting after this. so it's still being worked on. >> so let's talk a little bit about the inspiration for the play. i mean, i've seen from reading different things about you that your productions or your plays have been inspired by very diverse things. for example, there's a play you are developing right now for the asian american company which is based on the asian children's book the five chinese brothers,

this in san francisco, we have done readings at the asia society in new york. each time we did a workshop, each time we did a reading, it moved the piece forward. i think in large part it has to do with working with cary pearloff, the director, but she is also an excellent dramator. she worked closely with me in terms of the writing of the material so as we went along, we were able to shape the piece as well as figure out how to stage it. it's an interesting piece in that i wrote it with a number of small themes and the choice is you either present it like a doll house, or rear view window where you have kind of a cut out and you kind of jump from one room to another, or -- and this was my preference -- to develop some kind of cinematic approach to allow for there to be a fluidity in all these separate scenes. so cary and the scenic designic, donna eastman, as well as the lighting designer jim ingles developed this idea of a turn table which would turn and allow the audience to see primary locations but see beyond that through the set secondary and tertiary types of scenes as opposed to b

speed cameras are in the pedestrian strategy, which i believe we're going to be discussing at the workshop. so that would probably be a good time for us to get into that a little more. we have had success at masonic with the left-turn camera and we'll get at market and octavia a right-turn? >> any turn. >> any right turn on this freeway. i just think if we're going to pursue a pilot opportunity for speed cameras i would like to see us aim a little higher. i think that is something that we'd have to have a discussion as a board, not just in school zones. it's great. we have got the 50 miles per hour speed limits in the school zones. i would love to see that 5 miles 15 miles per hour speed limit enforced by cameras and keep not just the kids, but every other citizen safe from speeding cars by maybe consider expanding that to haves with bike and pedestrian trafficks, libraries, parks, streets around parks. so if this is a good opportunity to pursue this pilot program that we really go for a program that shows safety. as we see as we look at pedestrian strategy program, we have a ways to go in
