[applause] throughout the fellowship, youth warriors also has the opportunity to meet other youth leaders throughout the city and share the wonderful work they are doing to run the city. this past thursday, the youth warriors and a group of leaders went to sacramento to our state capital to meet with our elected officials to talk about the community work we are doing. the warriors had an opportunity to get involved in the political process and have their voices heard on the city and state level. the department of children, youth, and their families, is proud to be working with such wonderful and inspiring youth. now i would like to introduce the director of the department of children, youth, and their families. she has been an advocate of the use or your award and fellowship. please give her a werround of applause. the phenomenal accomplishments of these 15 new four years. it has been a blessing and give to work with these wonderful warriors. thank you all for sharing this memorable day with us in honoring the 2011 youth warriors. these 15 are shining examples of what it means to be a warrior and is a gift to myself, the family, friends, nominators, and importantly, to the city and county of san francisco. we all appreciate everything you have done. thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. the c.o.p. was an inner warrior and probably had been a warrior in his youth, but with no struggling to achieve the same virtues, being a warrior versions. so that's it army. would anybody like to say anything, ask anything, whenever? [inaudible] [inaudible] [inaudible] [inaudible] [inaudible] especially after 10 years of work, unique, 10 years of constant combat has never happened throughout the history. as a result of that, something we're doing well, other things of concentrating on x number of tasks and mutombo said is ask for something and they are suffering from decay. determining what the first part of the challenge. so this larger discussion is actually part of that. but we have wrestled with issues. we still have those soldiers on trial, the killing team. i'm sure you're familiar with that. for allegedly soldiers killed afghan civilians for sport. that's what the charges are. there's certainly enough there. when we recognize that as being outside of our east coast. so this is a very relevant discussion we are having about who we are and what it means to be a warrior or certainly a soldi

youth. we are going to take you to a warriors game. for a president of time. we are going to be with and you let you be kids. so there's some of the preplanned work that happens. some of the other activities within this general out reach has been intervening on gangville. there was one time on one of the friday night out reach. there was a group of 10 men in the mission district 24th and mission. there was about 20 guys that were going to jump these 10. we were able to mediate. we were able with the van that we do the canvases able to take the 10 men out and nothing erupted into violence. >> how often does this happen? how do you decide today is the day? >> is this predictable? >> we are in the western edition. there's a mission crn and then an asian pacific crn. there will be one in the sunny va le. they do an assessment of the out reach they need to target. what i mentioned was a mission related incident. some of the out reach that has taken place in the bay view western edition is working with those. there's out reach calendars. we produce as individual neighborhood based. >> crn program that needs to be expanded? is it? do you
