the superintendent of schools you're going to hear from in a minute, he was there, i know ter theresa sparks was there, i was so proud of san francisco in being there because the superintendent, he's, you can tell he's a teacher because he took control of that room. there was a thousand people in that room, he had them all raise their hands to quiet them down, it was beautiful. you could see the teacher in him. but i was so proud of being in san francisco because the kids -- kids are kids -- they were warned, you need to be respectful, you need to be respectful of the children that are being depicted in this film, please don't laugh at inappropriate moments, that kind of thing, and the kids were great. the kids were silent and crying when things were really tough and when things were going well for the kids depicted in the film they were cheering. it was a really, really wonderful moment. it was a wonderful way to start off this summit. i'm sure our superintendent will be talking about that. so i want to turn to him, our wonderful san francisco suplt of schools, richard karutz is here

the play was written by theresa rebeck and directed by san jose state graduate erica schewhr.age manager ashley soria worked closely with erica and says her goal is to bring something new to the students. "one of the things she really wanted to do was do a comedy because we don't do them very often." this comedy brings laughs ... and issues students can relate to on several levels. "it's about stuff that people go through ya know. blind dates, testing the waters and seeing how relationships work. and it's really about family relationships. there is a little something for everyone and it's extremely funny." and the audience didn't seem to disagree. these kinds of productions are something actor and student bryan moriarty thinks students should take advantage of. "to have cheap theatre with the quality of the performances that you're going to see is totally worth it. it's about as much money as it would cost to see a 3d movie and it is 3d."" there are two shows left for loose knit. tonight and saturday at 7pm. general admission tickets are 15 dollars and student tickets are 10.
