theresa garcia reports. >> my help come from the lord -- >> reporter: oakland's korean community gathered to remember the seven victims killed in the oikos shooting. police radio shows the chaos after the shooting. >> people are running out screaming. >> reporter: police say 43-year-old one goh, former student at private christian school, returned with a handgun and shot seven people to death before fleeing the campus. >> the shooter is going to be a male korean, about 40 years old, 5'5", heavy built, wearing a blue jacket and baseball cap. >> reporter: police say goh had been expelled from the school two months ago for behavioral problems. the korean national was reportedly upset students teased him about his poor english. goh was arrested in a shopping center a few miles away but was not carrying a gun. police divers and a sonar-equipped robot searched a waterway near the school looking for that gun. >> we're going to continue to search until we find this firea firearm. >> reporter: this small christian university was founded to help korean immigrants find careers in nursing and religio

theresa garcia has the story. >> reporter: one goh appeared in an oakland california court wednesday afternoon. he could face the death penalty. >> the scope of this murderous rampage is unprecedented here in alameda county. >> reporter: police are using a sonar-equipped robot and divers to find the gun used in the murders. >> it's clear to us right now from the evidence that he is the person and only person responsible for what happened. and we know that he used the weapon and we know the caliber that he used. >> reporter: goh had previously complained about not being able to get a refund after withdrawing from school last fall. still, prosecutors say nobody expected this. >> he was a loner. and, you know, what some might call a loser, but that he didn't exhibit any behaviors that we're aware of that would have alerted anyone that he could commit such a murderous rampage. >> reporter: outside the school, crime scene tape is still in place while the investigation continues. just in front, a memorial to the victims is growing. these women work at a nearby office and wanted to leave fl

theresa garcia reports that it could be the first of many severe storms this weekend. >> reporter: this would likely be a familiar sound across much of the nation's mid section this weekend. the storm prediction center is saying that severe weather is expected to develop from north texas to south dakota. >> there will be two hot spots on saturday and sunday. one is oklahoma and nebraska and the other is kansas and iowa. >> on thursday afternoon, the black clouds spawned a tornado over the town of norman. property damage was reported from the funnel cloud that touch downed not far from the prediction center. just last week a series of storms raked across north texas, damaging hundreds of homes. but no lives were lost. 2011 is a record year for tornadoes. 1700 twisters were reported. including the storm which will killed more than 150 people in joplin, missouri. so far, 2012 can proving active as welfare. this is the only the second time such a strong warning as hint issued this far in advance of the storm. >> we want to make certain that we do every effort to make sure that people receiv
