thom jensen is live at sfo with the map that is a big problem at the airport. thom? >> reporter: it is very ugly, marcus. more than 400 delays or cancellations on day one on saturday. nearly 500 yesterday and today as we take a look at the flight board, more cancellations and an airport spokesperson told us more than 100 delays and 100 cancellations already this morning. if this map holds true, we could look at as many as 1300 flights delayed or canceled in the first three days of the 20-day project. the runway in question is 28-l. sfo is repaving a 1900 foot section that intersected runways 1-r and 1-ll and at least two runways could be closed at the same time and causing major headaches and heartaches for passengers. a woman trying to ged home to medford, oregon from asia, told "today in the bay" she's going to spend eight hours in a delay to try to get a free meal for the inconvenience and a san francisco man told us his flight was canceled due to mechanical problems and now worried the runway closure to prevent him to get to memphis for his mom's funeral tomorrow

thom jensen is live in the terrace neighborhood.ld you more about the people who lived in that home? >> reporter: yes, just a short time ago, good morning. a man who lives on the other side of this house the ohm at 66 delano avenue, he's known the family for a little more than 20 years, this is about a block or so from bell bow with a park. the neighbor woke up to the home in flames at about 2:00 this morning and he could hear the new england woman in her 20s who lives here calling to her father. a door was too hot to open, he smashed a window and smoke poured from the house. he yelled at the young woman who grew up with his son to come out but she never responded. the man said it was too dangerous for him to go inside the home. >> i heard her screaming dad and i was screaming camella, come out. she grew up with my son. 23 years old, just started law school at usf so it's horrible. >> san francisco fire has only confirmed a woman who lived here died and a man is in critical condition but not confirmed their names or approximate ages

thom jensen is live at chase. what is the plan to keep things running smoothly tonight. >> reporter: well they do have a plan. they're working on it for a long time, not only chase center but muni. muni said they are prepared for the transportation needs when there are big events at both of these major venues. tonight the first dual test of many to come including more later this week. oracle park and chase center are only a mile apart and they share the same muni line. they have the event rail service with extension to chase center and increased number of trains on the line tonight. and wherever there is a concert or another event, that is the plan moving forward. changes could be made according to muni depending on how things go. people in the field are taking notes. chasen couraged concert-goers to take the buses from the mission station to the concert and concert tickets serve as muni tickets so fans could get to the arena here for anything, whether it be a concert or a warriors game. just last friday muni had

. >> reporter: thom jensen, "today in the bay." >>> a strange sight of events unfolding on the grounds of oakland international airport and this morning investigators are trying to find out more about the suspect in this. police say it started yesterday when an alameda county sheriff's deputy tried to pull over a driver. the driver took off onto an airport access road and rammed a security gate at more than 50 miles an hour. shortly after driving onto the tarmac, the man then ran toward the water. crews spent hours scouring the area, but they believe he may have drowned. deputies are still looking to determine a motive. >> there's always just a mental health factor, was this just one person acting out, and i think we need to learn who this person is before we can even begin to make a determination. not seeing necessarily a nexus to domestic terror or international terror at this point. it really appears to be some type of lone individual acting very bizarrely. >> there was very little impact at the airport on this busy travel weekend and no one else was hurt. >>> san jose police are lo

thom jensen joins us in lafayette along 24 with the latest. >> reporter: yeah, they were lucky to get this back up so quickly this afternoon. the pg&e crews had to get it from the pole on south side 24 across the highway to the north side, to that other pole, and do it during two closures late this afternoon and get it across that road while the closures were in both directions. it was obvious early on, there was no way to get the work done without completely closing highway 24 in lafayette. >> the overriding concern is we don't want to have a huge backup on 24 either direction. >> reporter: a crane operator installing new tracks between the ebola a the eastbound and westbound line hit a palestine. power line. it was out for about ten hours. the owner of this yogurt shop had to rent a generatetory keep the freezers operating and save his yogurt. >> a lot of customers were coming by. we were doing the best we can to just tell them that we are closed and the reason why. >> reporter: customers at all of the neighboring stores were disappointed it find everythicl >> it's kind of odd. ever
