here's a look at our camera in tiburon. can see the low clouds and every now and then the sun kind of tries to peek out from behind them. and a look at ocean beach where those waves have been really high, starting to see some of those white caps on some of those waves. and we're watching that, because we do have a high surf advisory in effect as this storm approaches. so we will be tracking another storm that will be moving in had. here we are at 2:30 in the afternoon, and it shows that there will be a potential of a band of heavy rain moving into san jose. but overall, the rain won't be widespread. and then we'll start to see gradual activity starting to ramp up later on this evening in time for the evening commute. there could be some heavy downpour as we see the hour by hour outlook showing reds and also some oranges in there, indicating some intense downpours. and then here we are at 8:30, seeing some of that moving into parts of the east bay and the south bay. and still not really going for the north bay until later on

and then we can see the fog in the distance from tiburon. it's right over the golden gate bridge and hugging the coast. elsewhere, though, it's mostly clear, and our temperatures are going to be a little bit cooler as a result of the return of the marine layer and the fog for the coastline. yesterday in half moon bay, we were setting record high temperatures. and we were looking at some upper 60s for the inland areas. we're now at 71 degrees in fairfield. now, comparing that to yesterday's temperature, we're 18 degrees cooler now than yesterday at this time. and then for the inland areas, most of us are about 5 to 10 degrees cooler. as we go to the south bay, checking out our highs for this afternoon, we are going to be just 2 degrees shy of a record high temperature in downtown san jose if we hit 83 degrees. and then we're also looking at some mid and even upper 80s for the east bay, the peninsula to 8 2 and in san francisco, the mission district reaching 73 degrees. a lot of mid 80s for much of the north bay. and as you make plans for the

authorities have identified the woman as 72-year-old laura lee pinot from tiburon. earlier yesterday morning two officers were investigating a spinout near highway 101 and sausalito. and that's when pinot's car slammed into a chp cruiser. the officer was treated and released from the hospital with minor injuries. >>> the deadliest most destructive wildfire in california state history is officially out. firefighters battling the camp fire reached 100% containment today. it is a significant milestone, but lot of work and a lot of healing remains. 85 people were killed in the fire. nearly 300 people remain missing. about 14,000 homes were destroyed. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. as our investigative unit has reported, government leaders are trying to make sure california's emergency alert systems are efficient and that they work. on tuesday, members of the state assembly will meet near santa barbara to discuss emergency alerts. the hearing will discuss lessons learned from recent fires as well as figure out ways to improve the system. >>> a clash

we can see high clouds also filtering the sunshine with a live look outside in tiburon right now ands staying in the upper 50s. looking at the approach of our next storm system that will bring you some rain for tomorrow. this one starts out pretty weak. we will see light to moderate showers and it will be scattered and it looks to move through fairly quickly. here is a look at the timeline. we are at tomorrow morning at 8:30, so this is around that morning commute, maybe shortly thereafter for some and then in the north bay santa rosa up to ukiah starting to see that rain moving in and then as we go through late morning early afternoon it rolls into the rest of the bay area with some scattered showers, a few pockets of heavier rain, we can tell that by the yellows there and by late tomorrow evening a lot of the rain starts to taper off, still lingering light showers left behind and on wednesday we are for most of the day dry, any area south of the golden gate bridge there still may be some rain in parts of the north bay, even on wednesday afternoon, but then some of the heavier rain

( james ) a tiburon woman who died after crashing into a parked california highway patrol vehicle in sausalito saturday has been identified as 72-year-old laura lee pino. police say pino was driving on southbound on 101 near the spencer avenue off- ramp at 8 in the morning when her 2003 toyota corolla hydroplaned and slammed into the c-h-p car. two c-h-p officers had stopped in the area to help a driver whose vehicle had spun out and blocked the slow lane of the freeway. they were placing flares at the scene when one officer saw the toyota coming toward them. the officer was able to jump into the back seat of the chp vehicle and avoid being hit by the car. the officer was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
