(darya) happening this morning... three alameda county sheriff's deputies... and one former deputy are set to appear in court on charges related to the mistreatment of inmates at the santa rita jail in dublin. the deputies could enter a plea today. sarah krause, justin linn, erik mcdermott, and stephen sarcos are facing assault and conspiracy to obstruct justice charges. prosecutors say an investigation in the case revealed that mcdermott choked an inmate until that person was unconscious. the others are accused of felony assault for letting an inmate throw feces at another inmate. the hearing starts at 9-am in oakland.
