tiffany wilson has late breaking details. tiffany? >> that body matches don myers description. certainly not the outcome that search crews and his family were hoping for and at this point everyone is just waiting on the corner to confirm what they already suspect. search crews scaled the mountain. he left with extra water and snacks, and his wife expected him home for a late lunch, he snefr showed. she got worried and called the east bear regional park district. myers car is still parked near the trail head about a note from search crews, tucked under the windshield wipers. 50 people spent hours looking through the rugged terrain, both last night and starting at first light this morning. shortly after 2:00 p.m. the discovery everyone hoped to avoid. >> our helicopter was circling one of the highest peaks in the area. they located what appeared to be a body. >> only the coroner can make a positive identification. officials say the body matches myers description. lieutenant lance brees says they're not sure what happened, but foul play is not a factor. >> it was one of the highes

tiffany? >> reporter: ama and dan, the home invasion in fremont happened at about 5:00 and shots were fired. fremont police officers responded, and they were able to catch up with the suspect's getaway car just as it was approaching the dumbarton bridge. officers from both fremont and newark pursued the suspects across the bridge into menlo park at which point the suspect ditched their car in the parking lot of the business park and then started running. officers chased after them and fremont police say that one of the suspects turned around and fired his gun at the officers. fortunately, none of the officers were hit. but that bullet did strike a newark patrol vehicle. the officers did not return fire. and with the assistance of the menlo park police they were able to take two of the suspects into custody and two guns were also recovered. police set up a perimeter near facebook's campus, trying to track down that third suspect. and for much of the evening rush hour, the road was blocked off a
