(tiffany) our top story this morning... one officer and a skateboarder are now hospitalized following a mob incident at san francisco's dolores park. police initially were called to the scene at around eight-thirty last night. police say a skateboarder lost control while riding down a hill and crashed into an officer and then hit a police car. you can see the crowd gathered here at the park. police say people from the crowd began throwing objects at them. no one was arrested. two police cars were vandalized. the extent of the injuries for the two are still unknown. (darya) there are other instances of crime that you may remember at popular san francisco tourist destinations. in 20-15 a tourist was shot and robbed a block from the popular windy portion of lombard street in russian hill. the tourist had his camera stolen, chased after the robbers, and was then shot in the shoulder. and in november of 20-16... eight people held up a man at gun-point at coit tower in the city. the group took two cell phones before they ran away from the scene. police were able to track down and arrest one of the robbers. (tiffany) new this morning.. police are looking for a group of teens who attacked and robbed a man at the bay fair bart station. this happened around 11:30 last night. the victim says he was attacked by 3 or 4 teens while on the train. they took his phone and laptop. the man had to be taken to the hospital with cuts to his face. the attackers have not been caught. (tiffany) that baby was found safe on a muni bus.s happened yesterday morning at colombia park in the south of market neighborhood. the baby girl was taken from her father's car when he turned away to make a bottle. a witness saw a woman get onto a muni bus with the baby. in less than an hour, the child was rescued at a bus stop in the visitacion valley neighborhood parents who go to that park say they are not surprised it happened there. ( tiffany ) the woman was found on the muni bus with the baby in her arms. the baby was not hurt but was taken to a hospital as a precaution. back to you in the studio. . ( tiffany @ flash ) the first incident happened saturday morning at lake shasta in shasta county. a seven-year-old boy from salinas died while vacationing on a houseboat with his parents. it happened on the mccloud river arm of the lake. the boy was playing as his parents were trying to fix their boat and make breakfast. the couple then saw the boy's flip flops floating in the water near the back of the boat. a search team later found the boy's body. he was not wearing a lifejacaked and was not required to by law. sheriff's officials say anyone playing on or near the water is encouraged to wear a lifejacket. the second incident happened on the russian river in sonoma county. a man went under the water near steelhead beach regional park yesterday afternoon. the body of the 19-year-old man was found late last night. his name has not yet been released. tiffany.any) the baby is in critical but stable condition this morning. 18-year-old daniel mitchell is behind bars after police say he left his new born baby in a strip mall parking lot on monday. he then drove off and left his car in fairfield about a mile and a half away from the strip mall. witnesses say his tires were blown out and there was damage to the car. police say he left his wallet and i-d inside the car, which helped to later identify him. those who know mitchell say he has been on a downward spiral ever since his mother committed suicide. ( tiffany ) the newborn's mother is not a suspect at this time and is cooperating with the investigation. mitchell was out on bail in connection with a felony burglary arrest last month. he is in court later this afternoon for his arraignment. back to you in the studio.
