of a.o.l., tim armstrong.t's live all afternoon on c-span and c-span.org. >> people always like to ask me, how did you -- how did you come across this story? people always ask writers about that. what you find in news stories while you are supposed to be working on something else, which can be a little frustrating at times, and that's exactly what happened to me. i was doing a little internet look h one day and just at this photo. it was on a department of energy website. and they had put up a little newsletter for one of the department of energy facilities, and this newsletter was saying, this month in oak ridge history, something along those lines. this one i just loved because there seemed to be a beautiful vanishing point at the end of the room and i looked at these machines with these dials and knobs and i was just so sucked into it. i also -- the women just looked so lovely and they got the nice posture and the little 1940's hairdos and i read the caption and it said, "these young women, many of them hig
