keaton rose to fame, big fame in 1989 with tim burton's batman. but until to you he has been mostly out of the spotlight. los angeles times writes of his performance, it is so intensely truthful, so ear ily in the moment that it is hard to imagine keaton will ever be better. i spoke with him recently in los angeles at his home. >>> where were you in your life when the idea of "birdman" came to you or you went to it? >> i was working on a film in canada. and i got-- i received a call from my agent. and they said all hando inarritu has a script that he wants to talk to you, that he wants to discuss with you. and already i was interested. and she said i don't know how are you going to do this she didn't say don't come. she said how are we going to figure this out. he can't fly there, or something. but he wants to talk to you here. and i thought well, it's probably not going to work. and then i thought about it for the night. and i called her back, i will make this, without. i flew back to a restaurant right up the street because all hando lives over

what was it about tim burton and getting you to open your eyes, so to speak? ct he has on me. he always pierces the surface and the armor that we suppress our subconscious with. and out it comes. and so -- so -- especially in this story. and in stories about relationships. we -- we know what's going on from our own experience. but we don't really always dare to face it. >> and there it is. and there he is. now it's quite remarkable. you can't believe that it's actually real stories. the things that went on with them. before we go, i want to congratulate you on your star on the walk of fame. >> thank you. >> that is a big honor, i would imagine. >> i was a little overwhelmed. >> i bet. and to have your buddy, quentin tarantino with you. it was special. >> wouldn't want to do it without him. he was the initiator about it. so having a star on the walk of fame wouldn't make sense without him. >> can't wait to see you on the new bond films. you can't talk about it. >> i can talk about anything. you can't talk about it. >> i can talk about anything. >> womaand the wa

>> this stars amy adams and tim burton, so you know it will be beautiful. amy plays margaret.maniacal. he said it was his word and went to court and this woman who was finally meek and mind the scenes got credit for something she did it. >> the interview is being released the first time a major studio does that. do you think going forward this may be like an accidental side benefit studios start releasing them online and not in theaters? >> i highly doubt it. i think with sony, they were trying to do something with it. most movies wouldn't take it instead of independent theaters him instead of recouping all of their money, you know what, cyber bully, attackers, we're going to get this out there and recoup our money and save some face. >> our final thing, what are you doing tomorrow? >> i'm going to see "the interview," finally. >> will you make it to a screening in new york? >> the closest one is in yonkers. >> will you make it out to yonkers? >> i got the internet. i will kick pe feet up, relax, watch that. i think you should watch "into the woods" if you are into music also.
