i'm joined by democratic senate tim kaine who sits on the budget committee.d morning and thanks for being back on the show. >> absolutely, hallie. great to talk today. >> give us the scoop. senate comes in at noon. any votes, any movement you know of yet? what is the time line you're hearing from your leadership? >> looks like we're going to start to have votes in about 3:00 or 3:30 on amendments. once the bill was finalized and i was presiding last night as the group of ten were presenting the text, then every office combs through it and starts to offer amendments to the bill. i have a couple of amendments we filed and will probably start voting on amendments this afternoon. some of the amendments will be non-controversial, what a great idea. whom will be poison pills designed to either weaken or kill the bill. the leader schumer kind of works to manage the amendment process to determine how many amendments there will be. you'll probably see us have a pretty heavy schedule of amendment votes early in the week, and hopefully move on to final passage of the bi

joining us now is tim kaine.nator we got our first look at the package this morning and we know there is not unanimous green amount the details. how much do you expect the final version to be different from what you're laying out right now? >> yeah, this process sets up an instruction. and then the degrees, we're allocated funds for our priorities, and we have to write the detailed bill and do it in a way to get 50 out of 50 votes to bring it back to the floor in september for passage. it will be shaped and molded along the way, but i do think this framework is an accurate portrayal of what we want and what we're likely to end up with. there will be details that might change some things, but still the frame work we put on the table we believe we will get there. >> we're talking about lawful status. does that mean dreamers? does it men workers? >> that is something that the judiciary committee will work on. they will try to craft a detailed description of what that means that can satisfy all 50 democrats. we're no

i am very proud of working with tim kaine and senators from maryland it. we make sure that this legislation included a full eight year reauthorization of our metro system. we make sure that we are making record investments in transit so that we can get metro back up operating again on a full schedule and that we can make the needed safety improvements with the metro for a number of years. we also know that we've got to continue to build out additional metro stations and northern virginia. the potomac yard, there will be extraordinarily important to the innovation center and amazon headquarters. and we gotta make sure as well because metro is moving it zero emission buses, that is good news for our climate, and for our community. the question is when will they be built. this legislation as well makes record investments in a electric and other low carbon and no carbon buses so they can be built here, not in china. record investment in transit, left dramatic improvements. let's get more people out of their cars, into these vre's and needed investments will be
