tim williams has the forecast. eyewitness news saturday morning is seconds away. >>> good morning, and welcome to eyewitness news this saturday. i'm gigi barnett. >> and i'm tim williams. temperatures are in the 30s and 40s. that's a good thing. we're waiting for snow to come down. we're starting with the moisture that's in place and it will lead to the snow. first off, we're looking outside at a wet out back. the rain is coming down hard. there's a lot of moisture with the storm moving through. most came in place yesterday. now, we're watching the development off the carolinas bringing in moisture from the atlantic that will fuse with what's in place. we're showing what's moving across the region. some of the bands are heavy. that's what's moving across baltimore now. the entire state is blanketed with the rain and moisture in place. temperatures are mild now. this is going to give you an idea of what type of precipitation is falling. we're seeing the rain and the pink. that's frozen and that's moving from the wes

let's go to meteorologist tim williams. is that true? >> that's true. low pressure is really causing all of the conditions that we have right now. if you look over to the to left ult' see the low pressure centered over detroit. it's the low that's bring the moisture and cooler air in around the great lakes and the direction is currently bringing our winds in from the southwest across the region. as that low continues to move up to the north, it's doing to start bringing the shift and the winds will start coming in. our temperatures right now just around 60 degrees. 55 out towards hagerstown. 52 over in -- in cumberland. that low mr. move away. as it does, it will bring the winds from the northwest as opposed to the southwest. we'll talk about how your weekend is shaping up as we head into this late october, friday, tomorrow. cup cup in a few moment. >>> the corruption trial of state senator senator currie continues. he was described as honest. currie is' queuesed of giving favors in exchange for money. >> when you head out to vote next year you may want

meteorologist tim williams is tracking hurricane rena. but first, bob is coming our way. >> we had a little rain. a little sun this afternoon. take a look at radar. there's another batch developing to the west of us. and that will move in during the overnight, primarily after 2:00, 3:00 in the morning. so in the morning, thursday, i expect to see rain across the region. and it will be with us on and off during the day. could pick up easily a half inch of rain or more. and once that rain passes, it will get quite chilly. in fact, cold enough, there may even be frost or freezing temperatures across northern maryland and southern pennsylvania on friday morning. but we'll have sunshine. tim takes a look at the tropics. hurricane down there. considerably in the forecast. looks better than it did a couple of days ago. >> this one is affecting most of the late season vacationers. downat around the yucatan peninsula. which includes cancun and cozumel. this, of course, is rena. downgraded to a category 1 hurricane. moving to the northwest at just

meteorologist tim williams and bob turk are updating the first warning forecast. >> take a look at radar. we have a bunch of showers moving through the region. as a cold front is beginning to move across the region. it's much colder to the north and west. we'll show you that in a minute. locally, some heavier showers, south and west of the city there. from towson down through columbia. a few heavy pockets. down by the washington area, approaching college park and columbia area. that's all moving off to the south and southeast behind us, we'll start seeing some clearing. and then it gets chilly. tim has a look at temperatures and what we can expect maybe by tomorrow morning. >> definitely. this front is by nature a cold front. brings colder temperatures. and beeron the -- we're on the mild side of it now. but as bob mentioned, we're moving through. on the western edge of this, you see the drop in temperatures. look it up. and look towards scranton, back towards pittsburgh. we're at 63 now. those areas are about 20 degrees or a little more colder than we are. those are areas the front has
