i'll have it for you after the break. >>> i'm matt delucia live in tioga.a year after a deadly crash that killed a mother and her three kids while selling fruit right here, the family is trying to honor their memory. i'll have that, coming up. >>> i'm katy zachry live in the digital operations center with new information coming out of lafayette, louisiana. that's where late yesterday, last night, a single gunman opened fire inside a crudded movie theater killing two people and injuring nine others before killing himself. it took place during a showing of the movie "trainwreck." police know the shooter's name but are not releasing it. they say he's a 58-year-old white man who has a criminal history but that's from years ago. they did not immediately release a motive. we are hearing stories of bravery coming from the movie theater where including one where two teachers helped protect nearby moviegoers from blocking them from the gunfire. one of those teachers also pulled a fire alarm. reporting live from the digital operations center, katy zachry nbc 10 news.

nbc 10's matt delucia is live in the tioga section of the city where the memorial will be held tomorrow on the anniversary of the tragedy. hard to believe it's been one year. you spoke with one of the victim's sisters, right? >> reporter: absolutely, chris. it was one year ago tomorrow a car came through this intersection of germantown and allegheny and crashed into a family fruit stand right over here by this grassy area. it changed that family's life forever. this was the scene on july 25th of last year. police say two men stole a car, lost control and crashed it here. 15-year-old kiara williams and brothers 10-year-old and 7-year-old were killed. their mother keisha williams died a few days later. there are signs and flowers in this field where it all happened. i spoke with the aunt and sister of the victims as well as a family friend. they both say coming to this spot is still incredibly tough. >> it's hard to believe. it's hard to believe. i just -- it's very hard. because it seemed like yesterday. >> it's very emotional to keep coming here. we are planning on doing something every
