tisha thompson is at our live desk. >> we have heard from spokeswoman from one of the local hospitals up there and they say it's a pretty fluid situation but right now fewer than 15 injuries that's a quote. the range of injuries range from lacerations to head injuries and it's a mix of patient, some protesters possibly some police officers. >> tisha, there are a number of schools in that baltimore area not too far from where this is all going on. can you tell us anything about the situation there? have they been locked down? i'm talking about colleges. >> right. so throughout the course of the afternoon most of the major universities in that area have decided to close or have asked their students to not leave campus or to not come to campus depending on where they were. some that dome mind is the maryland institute for college of art. it asked its students because they are located there right off the north avenue corridor. they asked their students to stay on campus. they decided to cancel classes after 5:30 and those who were not on campus to refrain from coming to campus. loyala uni

tisha thompson showed us how some women in the west virginia national guard say they faced retaliation when they tried to come forward with their stories of sexual harassment and rape. tisha is here with reaction from the state lawmaker who saw that story. tisha? >> doreen, last week we introduced you to lieutenant colonel teresa james the highest ranking guard member to come forward with a rape allegation in the country since the guard started tracking these crimes in 2012. she says she waited six years before reporting her rape fearing her 34-year career with the west virginia national guard would be destroyed, which she says is exactly what happened. >> her career was ruined and that she is being forced into retirement that is not what should happen to a victim. >> reporter: west virginia delegate barbara flesh ire was alarmed when our investigation revealed the state's national guard unit doesn't have a way to criminally punish soldiers accused of rape and sexual assault. >> according to lieutenant colonel james there's no procedure for cart martialourt mashltting in wave wf. >> re

. >> tisha thompson is back at the live desk for us this afternoon tracking the latest out of baltimore. tisha? >> from mon mondawmin mall, they're using the hash tag i love baltimore to invite people out to play basketball, eat food and hold a discussion. this is being driven heavily by pro and college basketball including will barton. at the same time city leaders are preparing for a citywide curfew that begins at 10:00 p.m. and will last through 5:00 a.m. tomorrow. it will be in effect all week. what we don't know yet is if schools will be back in session. the mayor of baltimore is defending her decision to close schools today. she says many teachers called and said they wouldn't show up for work following the protests because of that, many churches are offering to see children who rely on school for a meal. and for a second straight night, the baltimore orioles are postponing their game. that would be tonight, tomorrow the team will play at camden yards but the game will be closed to the public. major league baseball says this may be a first in recent history. the league doesn't hav

now tisha thompson joins me with some of the numbers. >> we've been watching the numbers grow. we want to give you the most recent numbers we have for the police departments that come from outside the washington area. montgomery county is sending about 45 officers a day. howard county says it's 40 to 50 officers, plus they've sent their tactical vehicle. anne arundel county has 35 officers there including their tactical and civil disturbance teams. we just learned within the last five minutes that prince george's county is now sending 55 fire personnel with as many as 12 of their vehicles later tonight. the frederick county sheriff's office deployed about 32 deputies earlier. the city of laurel has sent ten officers along with both of its armored vehicles. but now this afternoon governor larry hogan says police officers are coming from out of state as well including 300 from pennsylvania, 150 from new jersey, the d.c. mayor's office told me earlier today the district has sent 34 police officers and 20 from d.c. fire and emergency including their heavy rescue squad. but wendy, a
