. >> our tisha thompson is live near the silver spring metro station in montgomery county once again. how much snow is on the ground there now, tisha? >> reporter: it's about two inches, maybe a little bit more. it's kind of hard to tell, i don't have an official snow stick, pat collins snow stick, but it's slippery, but if you're on the sidewalks and they've not treated it's definitely slippery out there. this is the silver spring transit center and this is where the metro rail and metro busses all meet up and the ride-on busses, i should add, as well and we have watched the last of the metro busses leave. there are no more busses going by and the few that we have seen say they're not taking passengers anymore, and they're not in service. however, if you look over here and my photographer, and i'll have them point to the right and you will see that the ride-on busses are still going until 7:00 tonight. metro rail is going until 11:00 tonight. we have been watching marked trains going by all afternoon and people are coming off the train and we've seen people coming off of new york, bu

news 4's tisha thompson is at the metro station in montgomery county.any people or cars around at this hour or has it gotten really quiet? >> we are now at ghosttown status because the ride-on bus service is about to end at 7:00. so we've got about ten minutes and we have one or two people every so often run on by through the live shot. i want to show you this. this is wayne avenue and this would normally be packed with cars on a friday night. right now, this is what the road looks like. i'm calling it slurpee snow and it's the gunky stuff that you would get at 7-eleven that doesn't taste nearly as good. >> it's 2 1/2, 3 inches in silver spring. we are seeing people coming because the metro rail is still running. the busses have been empty for the last two hours. people say that restaurants here and there are still open, but most of coatsville road which is stretching along over here, the businesses are closed. only the 7-eleven is still open here in our neck of the woods, but it is definitely, people are getting the joke. they are finally going inside

>> reporter: tisha thompson is in silver spring near the metro center. what's it like there?are they still walking around? >> reporter: so things have really dropped off in just the last hour. i was just looking around. you can see -- this is what we're starting to see, two or three people coming from the silver spring metrotransit center and the marked trains and the m track they all come through this area right here so we do see a handful of people coming off of the trains and the busses when they arrive. less than an hour ago it was a completely different story. we saw tons of people out on the street doing their last-minute errands and we definitely saw some interesting stories including a guy in shorts. >> you're wearing these shorts. >> did you go to the gym? >> i just got out of the shower and i'm really warm and i'm making a quick run to the liquor store. >> the liquor is important, right? >> yeah. >> reporter: well, run! >> reporter: he had a much more serious reason for being out. they told us they were moving locations including this one woman on crutches pulling a
