i'm the chair of the tjpa citizen's advisory committee. i'm glad to see the smiles on everybody's faces. because that's what that was supposed to do. i'll just start off with the staff report and i wanted to talk about the inaugural bus service. month after month, i've realt' really engaging and important process that i've had the honor and privilege of serving on. we talk about budget, we talk about services, we talk about schedule, we talk about mitigation strategies and so on and so on, but the reality at the end of the day is we're going to have a transbay sales force transit center with sales force and retail and so on. so we didn't want -- i was so excited about the five local service starting on december 26th, my wife and i were out of town with the inlaws over christmas. we got back about 3:00 in the afternoon on tuesday, the 26th. i told my wife i'm going down to the transit center. you want to go with me? she said okay, so we went down there, got to the boarding platform area, and who was there? it was just a fabulous sight. it w

tjpa would have to come up with the money for that gap. or as you stated, if we didn't offer competitive tenant improvement allowances, the rents would not be -- would not rise to the level that we've estimated in few tour years. >> but the first year is being completely covered and then some with the 25 that they've agreed to, so successive years, they'll have to decide apparently in the next -- whether they'll go the full 35 or not, that's going to be in february ? >> we'll be discussing that with them in february . >> so i'm just saying that it's -- it's going to be rough on us, and it's okay. but last meeting, we talked about having a zero for the first year, 18-19, and now we're up to half a million for ac transit and that sort of thing, for essentially that half a year of operations. actually, it should be a full year here, but it starts at june. but that's going to be our expectation, that naming rights fully applied, and so i'm going to be looking for that to make sure that they don't go to tenant improvements in the first round be

track and the tjpa for the occupancy of the second floor is stalled all together. they are reticent to move forward until they have a full understanding of the financial impact of the agreement between a.c. transit and amtrak coupled with the financial impact of the second floor lease. we have been having back-and-forth conversations with amtrak since august and last friday i talked with the senior director of real estate and he made clear that there's not going to be any movement until they understood the financial piece, the full picture, again, because they want to present the full picture to their board. however, i don't know at this point when -- when amtrak's board -- when amtrak's board meets. as i noted earlier we have moved ahead with the planning for the construction because we can't -- we can't impact the greyhound occupancy of the second floor. >> what i don't know -- and i'll check this out with our attorneys and i don't want our attorneys to be holding this thing up. i don't know why it is that draft -- that we'd have to come out of a.c. transit on a
