let's get a check of your weather with meteorologist todd santos. todd, how's it going?en't gotten punched on the neck. >> we'll work on making that not happen this week. >>> i mentioned the radar across the west coast quiet for the most part, but the system from the northwest will slowly spread snow over the higher elevations over the next 24 to 48 hours. eventually wednesday into thursday we get some of that back down through say western wyoming. cold across a few areas of the country, including dallas, 36 degrees at this hour. forecast for today at least getting up to 58, so that cool blast taking hold across the central u.s. 47 with some of the showers up towards seattle. still mild across a good portion of the northeast, though keep in mind with some of the heavy rain showers, could deal with delays there. travelwise, back towards chicago it's more say the windy side of things today, winds out of the north to northeast, gusting 45, even 50 miles per hour. for wednesday, improvement across a few areas. temperatures cool down little bit in the northeast, not an extrem

. >>> let's check in for your national weather with todd santos. good morning, todd. lots going on. >> lots going on. for chicago, winds dropping back to 5 miles per hour. a big improvement there. we are going to start to see winds picking up over the next couple of days across a good portion of the west. underneath some of the clouds you are seeing here on the satellite and radar together, little bit of snowfall copping down. at least still across eastern portions of michigan and lot of that now channeling up into southeastern canada and see some of the showers exiting the major cities. if you are headed out to the east coast looking fairly good from boston through d.c., look at this system. starting to see some cooler air channeling in down towards billings where snow falling across the bitter roots and getting down into the tetons. late tonight and early tomorrow morning, even start to get some of that back towards denver itself. winter storm watches in effect that go -- really say later on this evening into early thursday morning. some of the winter storm warnings

good morning, i'm chris cillizza, in for chuck todd. we begin with president obama in france for the g-20 summit, where leaders are grappling with the greek debt crisis, trying to keep it from spreading across europe and possibly to the united states. chuck todd is traveling with the president, and he joins me now live from cannes. chuck, the summit focused on greece and the european debt crisis, what does the president do while he's over there? >> reporter: well, mr. fix, first of all, it's a rainy and windy cannes, although the rain has let up a little bit. about half of his day is already over. the summit just started formally, but before the summit began, the president had one-on-one meetings with french president sarkozy and angela merkel and with the french president he sort of laid the groundwork about what it is that has to get done at this g-20. here's what he said -- >> the most important aspect of our task over the next two days is to resolve the financial crisis here in europe. president sarkozy has shown extraordinary leade

and talk about somebody really needs to do something about the deficit, nobody will do anything. >> todd, what exactly is the sequestration process? what gets cut? how fast does it happen? what will -- >> bottom line is nothing hams on sequestration. doesn't go into a enforcement until january 2013. so we've got until the lame duck session of congress before congress really will feel any pressure to do anything. what will happen, on january 2, if the level of funding that dod funded at that time probably going to continuing resolution, it's higher than about $472 billion, which is the cap under sequestration. then a formed cut would be applied across every account within the budget to bring it under that cap. if the budget -- the in force at that time sund the cap, then you don't have any across the board cuts. but looks like we're on track to have something that is higher than that cap. >> and each line gets cut by the same amount of money. >> there's one exception. the president can exempt the military personnel account, and anno cuts have to be cut more to make up for that. >> let's g
