thanks todd. good morning chair avalos and commissioners. i'm going to report briefly on some other improvements that we expect to deliver in the next few years. generally came out of recommendations from the balboa park station capacity study. todd was already talking about of course the pedestrian bridge and walk way that is in the center of this slide, but you can see there are other improvements for bringing the station area that will improve safety, accessibility and comfort and convenience. here are the key tracking improvements and starting in the upper left. we have the weigh finding signs. bart is going to be putting some on their property but of course there are needs for the overall station area to help people make transfers, to help them find neighborhood attractions. you have a handout i believe that includes a couple of maps of proposed locations right around the station area within one to three blocks where we intend to put in signs. some of those will go in hopefully by the end of december, so there's also need -- >> i actual

"the first thing i'd tell a business traveller is call a travel agent who can get you through some of the ins and outs during this time. one of the challenges is the repositioning of jets to ny. they have to bring them back in." american airlines extended its rebooking period on storm- affected tickets without penalty through december 20th instead of the usual one-week or refunds if a flight was cancelled. but customers on united have only until november 9th to reschedule. new york's subway system suffered the worst damage in its 108-year history when floodwate

meanwhile, republicans who had rejected todd akin in missouri after his comments about legitimate rape are now having second thoughts. national republicans won't say whether they're injected funds into missouri, but suddenly akin received more than $2 million in the final days of the campaign. but the extremism is taking its toll on other high profile races in the house. joe walsh in illinois seems to be toast. polls are tightening for steve king in iowa. things are not looking real good for congressman alan west in florida. his republican opponent in the primary just endorsed the democrat in the race. michele bachmann is locked in a tight race against democratic challenger jim graves. the right wing's war on women came up in the last debate. bachmann was asked about richard mourdock's remarks. bachmann wouldn't tell voters
