well, joining me to discuss this are education expert tom buick and political commentator aaron bastaniwith me. aaron, let's start with you . it felt a little start with you. it felt a little bit to me like the mask slipped with labour when they were so wedded to this idea from the start, 1.3 billion sounds like a lot of money in the grand scheme of things. it isn't a huge amount, but the people that will be targeted by this will be those children who are at private school who then have to move and change their whole life for those kids to move into a state school because their parents can't afford to keep them there. and yet everybody that i've spoken to from labour is totally unmoved by that prospect . prospect. >> well, i think they probably are moved because they look at this through a sort of utilitarian lens and they would say, well, that might be a little bit bad. but there's other thing which is really bad and needs to be addressed, and that's our political priority, which is the condition of state schools in this country. the question is of course, how much money is it going to
